[solved] Re: Cinnamon - very slow startup
Solved - seems my Edup EP-N8508GS wifi-adapter (rtl8188cus) caused the boot time, I exchanged it with an old D-Link stick I found here and now my computer starts as quick as it should. xsession-erros still shows problems (and I dont like error messages): dbus-update-activation-environment: setting D...

Re: Cinnamon - very slow startup
The org.gtk.vfs.GoaVolumeMonitor.service is discussed in the latter part of this topic Remove Gnome Online Accounts . i followed this link and disabled Gnome Online Accounts as shown in this posting . Now Cinnamon desktop is visible much faster - xsession-errors says Cinnamon took 383 ms to start B...

Re: Cinnamon - very slow startup
Arch Linux is a different operating system and Linux Mint is not based on it or its upgrades so I have no idea what you may have tried from that link which is why I asked what you did. i just thought this solution could fit in my case, too because it covered both of my errors - the volume-monitor m...

Re: Cinnamon - very slow startup
What blacklisted glib2-package? I do not understand what you are referencing. The solution I've linked, it does not work here / I assume I have a different problem. What File Manager apps are you using? Do you just have standard Cinnamon apps or have you installed some other apps that are normally ...

Re: Cinnamon - very slow startup
What I've posted based on a blacklisted glib2-package and I assumed it covers both of my errors - but the glib-error here seems to be gone (possibly after I removed the taskbar monitor applet ?). I still have the Error creating proxy: Fehler beim Aufruf von StartServiceByName für org.gtk.vfs.GoaVolu...

Can you please take a look into your ~/.xsession-errors , if you find a problem with
in it after a boot-up?

Re: Cinnamon - very slow startup
Hi, done, I am now on 5.13.0-40. One errormessage on bootup is gone now (something with device-id not found). But the startup-time is still horrible - I measured it now, 13 seconds to login-screen + additional 40 (!) seconds from login to desktop. So ~53 seconds from end of bootlogo to desktop. I do...

Hi, on my new pc I recognized on a fresh install, that the applet CPU-Temperaturanzeige (temperature@fevimu) does not show anything. Same for inxi -Fxzd , it shows System Temperatures: cpu: 0.0 C . [solved] Cinnamon - very slow startup
Hi, I recently got a new pc - unfortunately there is no speedup at all compared to my 12 years old pc, even though it has a very fast NVME and some cpu-cores more?! Cinnamon 20.3 is freshly installed, it boots very fast to the login-screen, around 5 seconds - this is was I expect. But after the logi...

Re: Insane sliders in LM 18.3 and LM 19.1
Done, but it does not seem to work for me...I made no restart, but just changing the theme after creating the file at that location does not add the steppers for me. It does work. You do not need to change the theme or restart the system, but you do need to restart the application you want the step...

Re: Arrows in scrollbars - mint 19
I'm using the Clearlooks-Phenix theme, which I saw mentioned here . The package is clearlooks-phenix-theme. It is super nice and has traditional scrollbars. I clicked the customize button and the Controls > Clearlooks-Phenix, Window Borders > Doppler-Left, Icons > Tango. I did the WinMe for awhile....
