Hi xeno, thanks for this! Is there a way to use testing repos from the start during install (so testing repos are installed)?

Re: Change default boot partition type

And what shall the developers now do with this suggestion? If it is already solved, it is solved. You could "suggest" also all the features and enhancements, that 17.3 in difference to 17.2 has, what would be the sense for that? What are you even talking about? You assume it has been changed in 17....

Cosmo. wrote:I cannot remember and to be honest, it is of no interest in the context of your suggestion: If this has - at which version ever - already been changed, there is no base to suggest a change.
It is of interest because I have tested with 17.2 and it has not changed.

Sorry, I meant 17.2. Did it change from 17.2 to 17.3?

How to stop receiving old kernel upgrades?

I've upgraded my kernel to a newer version 4 but I still receive level 5 updates and via apt of 3.13/.19 related upgrades etc. How can I stop them from showing up in Update manager?

Thanks

Re: Can't resize partition with free space

you may have to move both SDB5 & SDB6 to the left - into that free space, so that the free space in now between SDB6 & SDB7 if you wish to merge it into SDB7 ( /home ) then extend SDB7 to the left & into that < new > free space. Can you please explain this is bit more? I'm confused how I would do t...

Best way to add unallocated space to partition?

So I have Mint installed on my disk with:

10gb for /
20gb for /home
4gb for swap

Also I have unallocated space of 10gb.

I would like to add unallocated space to both / and /home. What would be the best and safest way to do so?

Old kernel showing up in Update Manager?

So, I'm on a new kernel 3.16 but in my update manager 2 level 5 updates are showing up for kernel 3.13 (i don't have 3.13 installed at all either). The only way I can see to remove them is to not get updates for kernels (so not a good option). Does anyone know the reason for this and how to remove t...

Definitely a linux driver issue, since just tried Windows speedtest compared to Linux and it's almost twice the speed. Already done the rtl_wifi unofficial update which fixes disconnections but not the low wifi signal/speed.

Why does Linux Mint have weak wifi signals?

I have faced this problem many times. First, I thought it has something to do with laptop model and brand but later I came to know that same hardware with different OS was having different results. Laptop using Windows, Windows 8 to be more specific were receiving wifi signal more easily than in my ...

qpdfview questions

I'm using qpdfviewer for PDFs and like it a lot but it's missing a few options for this: 1) As far as I can see, it only allows hand selection and not mouse selection thus I can't drag anything. Is mouse selection possible? 2) Is there a way to make it so I can see the pages in tiles on the side of ...
