Re: Samsung Galaxy Buds - No Microphone or HSP Profile

Same issue here with a Bose Revolve wireless speaker. I found out that the speaker only supports HFP but not HSP. I assume that this is why I can not switch to HSP/HFP profile. It might be the same thing with your Galaxy buds. So I am now trying to figure out if there is a way to make LinuxMint use ...

Re: Bose Revolve Soundlike Bluetooth mic not working

Researching this further it looks like the Bose speaker does only support HFP but not HSP.
So now I need to find a way to force Linux to use HFP only (if thats possible - some discussions I found sounded like it is up the the individual application to chose either one or the other...)

Re: Bose Revolve Soundlike Bluetooth mic not working

MrEen, how do I do that? I tried switching to HSP/HFP in the Soundmanager output profile, but when I close and reopen the sound manager, it is set back to A2DP again. I also googled a bit, found people are using blueman and installed that. Same thing here: blueman shows it is using A2DP. When I try ...

Bose Revolve Soundlike Bluetooth mic not working

Hello, I have a Bose Revolve that is connected via Bluetooth to Linuxmint 19.3. It works fine as a speaker, but not as microphone. Opening sound settings, it shows no "Input sources available". Any idea how to get this to work? As far as getting the speakers to work, I did not have to install anythi...

Re: fatal server error server is already active for display 0

Hope this helps someone... I had the same issue after upgrading from 18.3 to 19. I noticed that both mdm and lightdm were installed on my system. I removed mdm and the mdm theme packages, then ran "sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm". That fixed it for me. Seems like both mdm and lightdm were active and ...

Re: "Use as Hotspot" no longer working

No, not really. All of a sudden it started working again, like nothing ever happened. Then a few months later, it stopped again... Now I'm waiting for it to just flip back again to working without problems :-( Not exactly a scientifically sound approach, I'm afraid... I just found a potential fix f...

"Use as Hotspot" no longer working

Hello, I used to use my Linuxmint 18.3 Laptop as hotspot for my iphone and kindle devices. All of a sudden, (starting a few weeks ago) this is no longer working. The devices can still see the hotspot, the password prompt still succeeds, but then it takes a long time for the WiFi icon on the iphone t...

Re: Network not working after suspend

After I initially thought this problem was permanently solved, it has come back a few times; but it is pretty rare. I also noticed that when it does happen, the menu that belongs to the NetworkManager applet looks different. E.g. it has lost the normal profile options that I have circled in redi n t...

Hello, I have successfully installed gnome online accounts following this post: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=229379 However, when I want to add my google account, after authenticating with my google login, it asks me to authorize some "Ubuntu" account to have full access to my accoun...

Re: Network not working after suspend

I have my machine set to never suspend. So it is not happening on suspend for you? What triggers it? Just long period of inactivity? Did you do a kernel update before this started? What kernel version are you using? Do you have network-manager-openvpn and/or network-manager-openvpn-gnome installed?...

Re: Network not working after suspend

I have been having the same issue. It appears that the system is losing its DNS address. I have the IP and DNS hardcoded so not relying on DHCP. When this happens I can reach local resources via their IP address but names are not resolving. It seems to be happening overnight and I have to reboot to...

Re: Wireless connections keep dropping

Update: I switched to regular ethernet using a USB adapter since I could not figure this out. That worked fine, until 1 or 2 weeks ago, I started having the same issue after waking up from suspend (refer to https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=150&t=242604) Not sure if the two issues are rel...

Network not working after suspend

Hello, I am using an ethernet USB adapter under LinuxMint 18 (Sarah). I have all Mint updates installed, including up to level 5, except for the very latest kernel. Kernel is 4.4.0-66-generic Since about 1 or 2 weeks, when I suspend and resume the system, network does no longer work. Browsers report...

I think it might be relevant as I see this Feb 20 16:29:04 XPS15-msata avahi-daemon[1285]: Interface wlp6s0.IPv4 no longer relevant for mDNS. And I have no other explanation for Feb 20 16:28:49 XPS15-msata wpa_supplicant[1509]: p2p-dev-wlp6s0: CTRL-EVENT-REGDOM-CHANGE init=CORE type=WORLD Feb 20 16...

Re: Wireless connections keep dropping

Honestly, I don't feel like starting to mess with the hardware... Last time it happened again, I checked the logs; this is from /var/log/syslog. Does this maybe give a hint?
