xrdp session closes when lid is closed

Hello, I am using Mint 20.1 with xrdp set up so that I can remote from Windows 10 into my Linuxmint laptop. This mostly works, but only while the lid of the Linuxmint laptop is open. When I close the lid while I am remoted into the laptop, the remote session will get closed. When the lid is closed a...

Re: Window list app with dual monitor in 20.1

I figured it out - the fact that the Window List applet was checked in one Panel's Applet list does not mean that it necessarily is enabled in that Panel, only somewhere on any of the Panels. So after adding Window List again to the second Panel despite it already being checked, it now behaves as I ...

Window list app with dual monitor in 20.1

Hello, I installed LinuxMint 20.1 after using 19.3. In 19.3, when using 2 monitors, I had a panel for each monitor. Each panel had a Window List applet and each of those Window List applets would show the windows that were open in each monitor. I am trying to get the same setup in 20.1, but somehow ...

Re: Boot loader location

When I run "mount" then it shows /dev/sdb1 mounted on /boot/efi ... Actually, for certain updates (grub2 and/or kernel updates, I dont remember exactly), I have to go to the BIOS and change the EFI default boot order again because it somehow gets messed up. The boot options are only called...

Re: Boot loader location

Thanks for the reply! I do know that the current EFI partition is on sdb1, but I wasn't sure if that's the entire boot loader or if the boot loader location in the installer is something else in addition to that. But if the bug you mention is not yet fixed, it sounds like no matter what I choose, I ...

Boot loader location

Hello, I have a UEFI system with 2 hard disks. Both hard disks have an EFI partition (sda1 and sdb1), as well as a linux system partition. There is an old LinuxMint system on sda, and my current LinuxMint 19.3 on sdb (sdb7). I also have a Windows 8 on sda and Windows 10 on sdb. All of them are boota...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Buds - No Microphone or HSP Profile

Same issue here with a Bose Revolve wireless speaker. I found out that the speaker only supports HFP but not HSP. I assume that this is why I can not switch to HSP/HFP profile. It might be the same thing with your Galaxy buds. So I am now trying to figure out if there is a way to make LinuxMint use ...

Re: Bose Revolve Soundlike Bluetooth mic not working

Researching this further it looks like the Bose speaker does only support HFP but not HSP.
So now I need to find a way to force Linux to use HFP only (if thats possible - some discussions I found sounded like it is up the the individual application to chose either one or the other...)

Re: Bose Revolve Soundlike Bluetooth mic not working

MrEen, how do I do that? I tried switching to HSP/HFP in the Soundmanager output profile, but when I close and reopen the sound manager, it is set back to A2DP again. I also googled a bit, found people are using blueman and installed that. Same thing here: blueman shows it is using A2DP. When I try ...

Bose Revolve Soundlike Bluetooth mic not working

Hello, I have a Bose Revolve that is connected via Bluetooth to Linuxmint 19.3. It works fine as a speaker, but not as microphone. Opening sound settings, it shows no "Input sources available". Any idea how to get this to work? As far as getting the speakers to work, I did not have to inst...

Re: fatal server error server is already active for display 0

Hope this helps someone... I had the same issue after upgrading from 18.3 to 19. I noticed that both mdm and lightdm were installed on my system. I removed mdm and the mdm theme packages, then ran "sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm". That fixed it for me. Seems like both mdm and lightdm were a...

Re: "Use as Hotspot" no longer working

No, not really. All of a sudden it started working again, like nothing ever happened. Then a few months later, it stopped again... Now I'm waiting for it to just flip back again to working without problems :-( Not exactly a scientifically sound approach, I'm afraid... I just found a potential fix f...

"Use as Hotspot" no longer working

Hello, I used to use my Linuxmint 18.3 Laptop as hotspot for my iphone and kindle devices. All of a sudden, (starting a few weeks ago) this is no longer working. The devices can still see the hotspot, the password prompt still succeeds, but then it takes a long time for the WiFi icon on the iphone t...

Re: Network not working after suspend

After I initially thought this problem was permanently solved, it has come back a few times; but it is pretty rare. I also noticed that when it does happen, the menu that belongs to the NetworkManager applet looks different. E.g. it has lost the normal profile options that I have circled in redi n t...

Re: Network not working after suspend

I have my machine set to never suspend. So it is not happening on suspend for you? What triggers it? Just long period of inactivity? Did you do a kernel update before this started? What kernel version are you using? Do you have network-manager-openvpn and/or network-manager-openvpn-gnome installed?...
