Try

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
If it returns with updates, run

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Why aren't you just using the graphical update manager?
I use the gui update manager, I posted the command for ease of posting. The command is same as what gui runs.

Re: How to import saved passwords, cache etc from Chromium to Chrome?

For passwords you can go to your google account and export them as in the pic. As for the easiest way to get most everything go to Chrome, open Chromium settings, and turn on sync. Then when you log in to Chrome and turn on sync there, everything will be included. PWs.jpg That did the trick. Thanks.

Will I do a fresh install this time?   I will upgrade and do a fresh install if the upgrade fails. I have been upgrading since Cinna...

Maybe try to reinstall mintupdate. Close the main window and quit completely with right click and quit from panel icon, then

Code: Select all

sudo apt update && sudo apt reinstall mintupdate
Installed version should be 5.5.9.
Installed version is 5.5.9, the problem remains.

Re: LinuxMint as DualBoot

The DVD may be bad. If possible make a bootable USB and boot from it. Some usbs, though otherwise fine can't be bootable, but that's a rare case.
