Arch is a proper distribution that stands alone. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/ for documentation - that said, if you're already struggling with installing a desktop then Arch may not be the right distribution for you - take a look at Manjaro instead which is sort of a newbie Arch. Thanks. I will ...

It doesn't show usage on unmounted file systems, from the man page: This version of df cannot show the space available on unmounted file systems, because on most kinds of systems doing so requires very non‐ portable i...

The sw manager edition is quite outdated. Remove that edition. You can try https://linuxize.com/post/how-to-instal ... ntu-18-04/

/dev/sda16 Why have you got 16 partitions on your primary drive? A screenshot from gparted would help (the df command in the previous post will only show mounted partitions).
It will show free space and total space of partitions and not mounted partitions.

don't delete .cache folder every linux needs it. you should not add it to a tmpfs if you worried about size going 6GB+ which will fill your RAM i usually just open .cache folder delete everything in it then logoff As a test mv .cache .cache.old . Start thunderbird, you will find that . cache is aut...

I am not able to start Thunderbird. I get missing profile. I renamed .thunderbird but it didnt help. Any pointers are welcome.
Thunderbird needs cache, so remove that touched .cache file and make .cache folder.
Deleted .cache file but all the TB data has gone. Had to reconfigure again.
