Boot from.usb and before you start installation, run inxi -Fxz and post result in code tags. The usb install media may be bad

You have to run boot-repair
And run sudo grub-install /dev/sda

While booting press shift or ESC or space keys respectively and see if you get Grub menu.

Good that you are Able to solve this. But ideally the presence of multiple drives in your system shouldn't matter at all.

Putty is from Windows and sah is from Linux. If from putty you can connect, from aaj also it should be possible. I am out o ideas. Sorry.

If you are connection to the Huwei then Huwei should have aaj server installed on it. It should be running too.

Nemo the file explorer will be visible at the bottom left as a directory. You can browse your files using it.
