Re: How to make x64/x86 + MATE/Cinnamon/Xfce ISO?

I think, you missed my point. Mint MATE 64x 1,7GB Mint MATE 32x 1,6GB Mint xfce 64x 1,7GB Mint xfce 32x 1,6GB Mint kde 64x 1,9GB Mint kde 32x 1,8GB Mint Cinnamon 64x 1,7GB Mint Cinnamon 32x 1,6GB So I need 13.6GB of space to save all ISO-s to USB or DVD. Download all ISO-s 2. Extract them in one folder 3. Make folder for different kernels? (64/86) 4....

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

Still hardware compatibility is big pain in the ass. More specific: problems with auto-detection of VGA monitor and configuration of monitors. Some basic stuff which just works out of the box in windows. p.s We should make yearly posts about this. So we could track how Mint is changing and improving...

Re: How to turnoff laptop display when connected through hdm

Probably because Linux OS is bunch of boxes stacked one above another. http://www.linfo.org/runlevel_def.html So in GUI you set that you want to have picture in HDMI monitor (level 5) but on text mode (level 3) there is set to use laptop monitor. So when pc is booting it's starts at level 1, and the...

Re: How to turnoff laptop display when connected through hdm

This is a minor problem, so I doubt there is will to fix this.
Why spend 2 hours fixing something which bothers you only 2 seconds?

Can you do a test for me?
Connect monitor with VGA cable if you have VGA port on laptop. And tell me if you have any problems with VGA monitor ...

Re: What are you most dissatisfied with in Linux Mint?

Hardware support. AMD APU(graphic&cpu) drivers don't work. Especially power management. When I used Linux Mint from live CD, in less than half of hour my laptop overheated and shout down. I wasn't even able to install Linux Mint on hard drive. Because even before installation process finished my lap...

File structure! / -bin -boot -cdrom -dev -etc -home -lib -lib32 -lib64 -media -mnt -opt -proc -root -run -sbin -srv -sys -tmp -usr -var 21 folders at base level. Even government don't have so much complexity in it's structure. But hopefully things are moving (very slowly sadly) in right direction wi...
