see,gnome is their flagship product, and that is released in good time after Ubuntu final is released...............but with kde sadly there is no deadline ............
you might actually see ubuntu releasing 11.04 before this. :)

i was myself pretty restless last time.....................but during the course of LM-8 and now i have discovered that LM's dev team is much more user sensitive than many other distros......

atleast i haven't seen anybody post updates like this............

mint 8 and 9 have been ubuntu+ shining new green wallpapers. I think mint needs to break away from being just " ubuntu++"

like ubuntu is also based on debian.................but doesn't actually wait for them to develop a new version and then modify it into Ubuntu...

well without getting into much argument.....................Windows is more targeted simply because of its popularity and figure of window crashing on pc's is grossly over exaggerated...... Using win for 12yrs now and very happy.At same time i support linux as its great iniative and a full-blown rep...

i tried netbootin..............but my pc just doesn't pick it up even after tweaking my bios to boot from USB...

well, guess gnome really is the ideal choice for newbie and i found out the same when i used mint-6,well i didn't know then that we had so many desktop's :P

Why do most Distros have Gnome as default ?

Since i am new to linux world,i always wonder why many companies including mint has the gnome desktop as their default desktop?
is it so because,its easier to use or its matter of choice of the developers?

nice to read about the recent updates and i hope it turns out as good as the gnome version,which in my view is the simplest and most reliable distro around.

If i can make a suggestion,can the menu be changed to be more easy to use,like in mandriva?
