Re: All forums user should reset their password
I notice the password policy is excessive: Not really, if one thinks about it; If the, or a, forum is hacked, and it's a Linux forum of all things, I welcome them to hack it ! Why ? How else do vulnerabilities become exposed ? You are right in saying, "what can they gain by hacking a forum&quo...

Re: All forums user should reset their password

Checked my password, and there is no way it can be compromized, it's unique.
So these who back doored have wasted time, their time.

Re: This time I *really* can't believe the Windows fanboys!
I have no posted for a while since starting my slow migration from MS to a Linux based product. The reason I have not posted on a Linux forum is because I have had no problems ! The only fine-tuning of my progressive migration work-wise, some of the work has to move onto from the XP to Win7.1. That'...

Re: SAM THE SPY
No it was not a locally made game. It had subscription section for updates by the author of the game. I once did find it on-line using Google about 2 years ago on a DOS games collector's web page. Emailed and never got a response. That collectors web page amongst his/her collections had Sam the Spy ...

Re: SAM THE SPY
No, that was the game's name. It was found on a old 386, a pc that was used as part of the video shop's "hire out video/customer database/ cash regfister" software. That computer had on it's HD that game. When the video shop closed, I was asked to get the records and delete stuff etc off t...

Re: Linux Mint after 2016! What do you expect?
Linux Mint team to consider taking in "refugee OS's" and offer "IT asylum" to the likes of unsupported Win XP and possibly as far as Win 7.1 when MS dumps it to. ( There is no way I am going past 7.1 IF my Excel work is compromised due to things too much to explain and not part o...

Re: This time I *really* can't believe the Windows fanboys!
Hmm, These older Windows programs—which in many cases are still perfectly functional—must either be redeveloped for a newer Windows platform, or replaced. This places yet another cost on top of the cost of the OS upgrade. However, this cycle, which once appeared unbreakable, now seems to be weakenin...

Re: This time I *really* can't believe the Windows fanboys!
MS has really got nothing more to develop, it is all cosmetic and "wow, I can spin left and right at the same time, look at meee, I'm on planet wonderful dancing in the stars with cortana", not realizing Open Source is just playing it's own tune . Open Source is not going to go away, cos y...

SAM THE SPY
Anyone remember this game called, "Sam the Spy".
It was on 5" floppy many many long times ago, but some I heard collect these oldies, hopefully.
It was played using the keyboard.
I know, it's 150/1 shot I get reply, we hours of fun with this particular game.
Thanks.

Re: Newbie who flunked all the DUMMY books
If I take it to an electronics store are they likely to know how to help with this? I would ask if they do Linux based computers first before taking it anywhere. I have asked a few places about Linux, some of the store's workers ask their boss, and get an instant and firm "No". That's not...

Ad free paid subscription
I would just like to come here and not be seeing ads. But do understand the ad income is a required thing to pay for all this, that's OK, no problem there. But consider being offered a choice, a annual subscription for members who choose to, and there be no ads when they log in. It can be a set cost...
