Re: Ubuntu One Client installed ! but where is it ?
I raised it as a bug in launchpad. Incredible that after all this time it's considered a new bug. I got the soulution to it over a year ago. btw control-panel-qt is available in Synaptic package manager but not in the software Manager

Re: Ubuntu One Client installed ! but where is it ?
Hi Don-Pedro thanks for raising this issue. This is a bugbear of mine. Why does ubuntuone not have ubuntuone-controlpanel-qt included in the default dependencies list as it's the only way for the frontend gui to work :x I mentioned it to clem in chat but not sure if it can be added to mint repositor...

Re: Touchpad not active on my Terra Laptop
I tried all the suggestions I could find in the forums (Mint/Ubuntu/Arch/openSUSE) I was just about to try another distro which needed me to switch the bios boot from efi to csm  when I noticed the 'internal pointing...' was set to DISABLED. I must have done that when I was testing a l...

Re:Enter password for keyring "Default" to unlock {SOLVED}
go to Peferences -> Passwords + Keys ->View. right click on Login and Change Password -> Give old p/w and change to Blank. The old password is set to your user password by default.
Re: Sky Go ? (Solved)
SkyGo is now included in the ubuntu pipelight ppa fds-team.de/cms/pipelight-installation.html which is an updated/merged version of the original Compholio ppa for netflix.. Installation is done via a few simple copy+paste commands in terminal. Works extremely well and 2-4 devices can be registered. ...

Re: LMDE 201303 RC ISO Issues
I had similar issues to some of those above with LMDE 201303rc. firstly I got through the installation fine. My first problem was with mdm login. (P/W not recognised). I have had this a few years back with an LXDE install so knew the issue wasn't with LMDE, Cinnamon, mdm or my intel card. It appeare...

Re: Enable tap to click?
I already had 1 click to open files using behaviour/preferences and this opened files ok with one click but not icons on the desktop. I tried the above suggestion but I still can't get desktop icons to open without clicking twice.

Re: Linux Mint 9 LXDE released!
Hi, I had a problem with login as my password used a space and a character. It was accepted during installation but not at login
I had to re-install and create analpha/numeric p/w. Seems thre may be others who have ran into this.

Re: Adding files to screensaver/backgrounds in Mint 9 LXDE
Hi willysc1. you need to open a terminal and type sudo pcmanfm That opens file manager as root then open usr/share/backgrounds. Now click the filemanager icon on the panel to open another filemanager as user and open the file with your background and drag it into the root file. I assume it should be...

Re: New install: can't login
Hi Dr.U I'm not sure about the chroot method from live cd but I found out that if you set your password with space and characters as mine was. It accepts this during installation but for some reason it only accepts alpha numeric passwords at login
So I did a re-install. Hopes this helps.

Re: Fixes for the stable LXDE release.
My only problem with LXDE RC1 so far is that I can't install + play Wesnoth. It says that it appears to download and says it's installed. But clicking on the icon does nothing. Also after removing, autoremoving and purging there is still a dead link to wesnoth in the games category. Otherwise I reall...

Also left a reply here. http://blogs.computerworld.com/15269/tw ... ent-171581 I get a bit hacked off with journalists who think that Mint is just Ubuntu with multimedia addons.

Feedback
I think if we, as a community take the chance to 'big up' Linuxmint all over the web, people will start to take notice. I have been leaving posts on bulletin boards and forums whenever I see the opportunity to raise the profile of Mint. For the latest one see here. http://blogs.iium.edu.my/jaiz/2009...

Re: Which Linux OS would you like to see pre-installed?
I would clearly love to see Mint pre-installed as it is one of the top few distros, in my experience, that work out of the box. Unfortunately another distro (PCLinuxOS2009) has one advantage and it is a big one in my opinion-Broadcom firmware for laptops. Mint and others running the B43-fwcutter dri...

Mint cover feature in Linux Format
In Linux Format magazine (LFX) this month, a reader asked for a Mint cover feature and the editor stated that it would be done if enough people requested it. LFX is the UK's most popular mag for Linux and ships worldwide so there is an opportunity here to promote the best distro (imho). This would a...
