Thanks, but I had already tried this and MAAAAANY other googled answers. NONE work. I can get it to run but the actual globe doesn't display. Just a copy of the desktop inside the boundaries where the globe is supposed to be. IF I could get an older version I think it might work.

Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller installed a base system, not sure of driver being used but DRIVER MANAGER isn't installed on this release so I haven't changed anything All help is appreciated, I have always had it working on LMDE2 and Linux Mint ...

I just copied and pasted my previous entries and it went back to ext monitor being primary/having menu....so I quickly went to menu/preferences/displays and set it up correctly and hit system wide. I have yet to reboot it but am going to get off my porch where I have this bad laptop with attached ex...

Thank you very much!
LVDS-1 was laptop display and VGA-1 was external monitor
input just as you said and after enter on second one, they switched/lap-off vga has menu/icons
laptop display came back on as i was typing lol

if you do not care for typing there is an entry in the menu system under accessories, DISKS click it to open a GUI that does this for you, highlight the disk you want to manage, click on the partition you want, then the two gears icon, and you see a slider that has automount ON, turn it OFF THIS wil...

I am assuming this is the info that I will have to add for each of the other partitions(I have around 12)
getting the info for uuid from gparted and changing the filesystem type accordingly, correct?

it doesn't exist, I meant when I opened the file browser as root, /etc/fstab doesn't exist I open the filebrowser, it has HOME and filesystem (trash network...) I click filesystem and right click over etc and 'open as root' type the password and it opens and does not have the folder fstab.... ok, so...

I have 5 different physical disks in my case and one usb(laptop drive) connected outside to carry around with me, xfer files to other computers etc. I have always had to go to VLC first, upon reboot to SEE these drives and use open file, from the dropdown menu and click on e...

awww man....dumb me, googled it with simpler wording, it was answered in relation to a windows 7 problem...wasn't using my brain! all I had to do was go to preferences in the file manager and check the 'show search box' feature, THEN put in ".JPG" in the main folder that contained said 250+ folders ...

<SOLVED>So now I have 250+ folders, each containing one picture each ARRRRRR! how do I move/transfer all the pictures out of the 250+ folders into ONE folder that contains all the pictures??? STUMPED
