Re: Solid state drive optimization

Forget the motherboard suggestion. Take a look at these links first before replacing expensive hardware for nothing: https://ubuntugenius.wordpress.com/2010/05/07/fix-an-error-occurred-while-mounting-procbususb-bootup-error-after-upgrade-to-lucid/ http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1468486&p=9...

Re: What version of Mint is actually running on my machine?

It's easy, you have Mint 17.2 Rafaela running on your system. Not sure though why the lsb-release file show 17.1 as well 17.2. Maybe because it has to do that 17.2 is an upgraded version of 17.1 which is an upgraded version of Mint 17. It is as with Ubuntu, you have Trusty Tahr 14.04, Trusty 14.04.1...

Re: [solved] Split view patch for Thunar not working

Great!!! Thanks it worked! And thanks to you because that thunar fixed an obnoxious bug, which was: files sorted by name, select and rename multiple files so the sort order changes -> wrong files are selected (same positions selected, rather than same files). Sorry, can't follow your post.. What wa...

Re: VIA Onboard Graphics

There are a lot of video card/GPU drivers installed b default. Check synaptic for this. Open synaptic and search for: xserver-xorg-video You will see that the mentioned xserver-xorg-video-openchrome driver is installed by default. If you don't have any video GPU issues, then your card has been recog...

[solved] Split view patch for Thunar not working

Hi all, Up till Mint 17.1 Xfce i could use this Split View patch for Thunar . But with Mint 17.2 This patch no longer works. Although it should work since the patch is meant for 14.04, 14.10 and 15.04 Xubuntu releases (Xfce 4.10/4.12). Has there been some changed made by the Mint team which causes t...

Re: Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon & Intel HD Graphics 3000

Welcome to the Linux Mint forums. Where are you installing it from, and may I ask why? What problem do you have that you think this driver will help. Intel HD Graphics 3000 (I have it) driver is included with the Linux kernel; there should be no need to install a driver from another source on LM17....

Re: Probably Video Driver Issue (please help)

I won't recommend to install another desktop environment besides the existing desktop environment. There are too many differences between Mate and Xfce. Installing 2 different desktop environments is prone to have "clashes" between desktop environment dependent tools and/or applications. I recommend...

Beside the above:
- What program are you trying to install? Shotwell?
- Which version of Mint are you running? 32-bit or 64-bit?
- How do you install that program? Through Software Centre? Synaptic or a downloaded .deb file?
