Re: How to open .RDP files?

You'll have to open each .rdp file in an editor Change them to resemble: [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Type=Application Name=My First rdesktop file Comment= Exec=rdesktop -T "Linux is not Windows" <ip> -u <user> -p <pass> -r clipboard:PRIMARYCLIPBOARD -g 180% Icon= Path= Terminal=false Star...

Re: How to open .RDP files?

There's no such setting in Remmina. There's no way to configure & save a remote profile within Remmina? You may want to investigate that to be sure. I'd be very surprised if there wasn't. Joe Save a remote profile? No. We're not talking about same thing here. There's a downloaded .rdp file. Dou...

There's no such setting in Remmina. And Mint's open-with menu doesn't list remmina.

Re: How to open .RDP files?

Just need to double click and connect, it's opening the file with Gedit.
For Remmina I have to import the file, couldn't find a way to associate .rdp files to run with remmina.
What other alternatives I can try ?

Is there a way to associate *.RDP files to open with relevant remote connection software? So I can double click on file and perform remote connections.

Re: A note taking app which can email the note?

Sadly these are Evernote alternatives. They're not syncing to Evernote nor alternative to Everpad.

A note taking app which can email the note?

Hello, I'm looking for a note taking app which I can send my notes to Evernote-email. As far as I know there's no Evernote for linux and Everpad is discontinued or it just doesn't work with Ubuntu 16 based systems. Currently using Tomboy and it's good but can't export notes by means of email. Thanks.

Re: How to make sure Mint is using hybrid shdd?

Okay that's great so I can move /var to another partition when ever needed. So am leaving it in / for now. I can tell with a fresh install of Mint currently /var uses 1Gb more or less.

Re: How to make sure Mint is using hybrid shdd?

A ReadyCache-like situation and with some googling I see that for example Western Digital indeed also shipped devices like that. Shall stand corrected; not transparent. 16GB would be enough for a root partition normally, but you may want to move /var to the magnetic disk. /home certainly. /home wil...

As far as I know the only solution there is to re-install to the correct partition.
I've done it a couple of times. Just had to copy the OS, then edit /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/grub.cfg
How did you copy exactly?

Yes it sees this 16gb partition as /dev/sdb1
I guess there's no way to move root directory of linux to another partition? Or else I will reformat my computer and install on ssd next time.

Re: How do I add Ubuntu 16.x sources to Mint 18?

Need more repositories back to my question. Your conclusion is simply incorrect. Likewise has been discontinued. Already at the time of Ubuntu 14.04 Likewise had to be removed from the official Ubuntu software repositories, because the software was no longer maintained. So adding a dozen repos will...

Re: How do I add Mint to Windows ADD?

There's no way you can add a PC to a Windows AD domain without help from the System Admin. You can access your Windows file shares without his intervention just by using your network credentials. It's not the problem. What do I need to install on Mint to allow such integration. As a Windows Domain ...
