Re: Update Manager keeps complaining

This is an error that everyone is getting since Google dropped support for 32 bit Chrome browser. You will get the error even if you are using the 64 bit version. Re: Update manager, level 5

I was wondering about that too. Mine locked up and wouldn't let me proceed until I did that update. Since then my google tabs won't fully resolve in Firefox. Error message: Failed to fetch http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/Release Unable to find expected entry 'main/binary-i386/Pac...

A little more info for the above post.

I used the suggestion from one of the comments of going to the edit sources link in the update manager to edit the URL and it looks to be working for me.

Re: Help with first installation, please!

By default, the Mint install will erase the entire drive and create new partitions so be careful there. The good news is if you download it and make your DVD or USB image, the installer actually runs a full Mint setup off of that. So you can plug in your DVD/USB and boot your computer off of that an...

A lot of routers (and small set top appliances in general) run linux as well, so make sure those have any updates applied to them as well as changing the username and password for the login to configure them. For added security (usually complexity and extra features too) consider third party firmware.

Re: Upgrading kernel

If you open the update manager you can click view and then view kernels to see what is pre packaged and easy to install. They only have 3.13, 3.16 and 3.19 there.

Re: Youtube full screen not working well

I believe you are suppose to use the regular fglrx and not the fglrx-updates one.

As for Google, the Chromium browser is the open source version of Google Chrome. It is very similar, but it is what it looks like before Google ads their own custom stuff to it.

Re: Scheduled Tasks / Stopping program question

I use deluge, but deluge and qbittorrent both have built in schedulers. Why don't you just use the built in options of your client to disable sharing during other times? You should be able to set the upload and download speeds to 0 for other times and then the program will keep running, but not send...
