Re: Evolution deleted during update
From the GitHub issue it looks to have been an upstream (Ubuntu) issue with conflicting dependencies between Evolution packages that would trigger a removal, but fixed now: https://github.com/linuxmint/mintupdate/issues/681#issuecomment-853847287 Thanks for your follow up xenopeek. Much appreciated.

Re: Evolution deleted during update
Update:
Actually Evolution was already in my menu items.
I just unchecked and checked the box next to Evolution, and it was back again.
Now looks to be working for me.

Re: Evolution deleted during update
After installation, Evolution was gone from the Menu, and I'm not able to re-install it from package manager. Can you please share output of this command run from the terminal: apt install evolution That will likely provide some clues as to why. And preempting what other packages it may complain ab...

Re: Evolution deleted during update
Hello, Janni. Thanks for trying, but honestly, the file /var/log/apt/term.log must be much longer than the few lines which you shared. What is needed is at minimum all the lines, which have been written on the same day, when Evolution got updated (and removed). The days are logged like this Log sta...

Re: Evolution deleted during update
Hello, trevorh. Hello, Janni. Could you perhaps share the apt logfile /var/log/apt/term.log with us? It should hold all the steps, done during the Evolution update installation. Maybe some warning or error messages have been logged, which give a hint whether something went wrong and if so what prec...

Re: Evoltion deleted during update
I can confirm having the same issue. Coincidentally my Timeshift hard-drive also died the day before so I cannot revert back. Hoping for a fix.

New Nvidia driver breaks my Mint
Today I got nvidia-graphics-drivers-450 (450.80.02-0ubuntu0.20.04.2) I think from Mint updater itself. I don't have any ppa for Nvidia currently.
First all look good, but some applications no longer work. For instance I cannot start Teamviewer.
I took rollback with Timeshift and all is good again.

Re: Gimp crashes at "copy" of image
I have solved the problem for myself regarding the gimp and copyq Disable images from saving to the clipboard. Super Key + Z brings up copyq as a keyboard shortcut. Ctrl V and paste the image into the clipboard manually. CopyQ will still store images that I tell it to store. It just has to be done ...

Re: Gimp crashes at "copy" of image
Same problem here. Gimp crashes on ctrl+c. Using LM20 and Nvidia.
Edit: Looks like it is a conflict with CopyQ. Shutting down CopyQ while working with Gimp solved my problem.

Re: Linux Mint Cinnamon 20 upgrade_ Virtual Box Uninsatlled How do I re install?
I was also getting this by running the .deb file in Cinnamon https://forums.linuxmint.com/download/file.php?id=60705&t=1 However, running this as suggested worked: sudo apt install ./virtualbox-6.1_6.1.10-138449_Ubuntu_eoan_amd64.deb I still have some a few errors in some VM's... need to dig fur...

Change default location for flatpaks
Flatpak is by default stored in the root filesystem and Flatpaks can often get BIG in filesize. This causes problem for all of us that have the root filesystem on a separate partition. From early days this partition is usually allocated limited diskspace. I would like an easy parameter switch in con...

Re: (SOLVED) Root directory is full
I have a 50GB root partition (from before Flatpak days) which have been plenty. Now it is almost full. Overnight 5GB was taken by Flatpak due to the release of Gnome 3.34. :o Yes, Flatpaks (and Snaps) are a mixed blessing.... Personally, I simply remove the entire Flatpak infrastructure from my sys...

Re: VICE 3.2 (Flatpak)
Does the directory /home/me/.config/vice/ exist? Hi catweazel, yes it exists You can try this in a terminal: sudo chown -R $USER:$USER /home/me/.config/vice If that doesn't help, you'll need to wait for someone else to come along. Unfortunately that didn't help. Thanks for your help anyway, I appre...

VICE 3.2 (Flatpak)
In the software repository there is a package called net.sf.VICE (Vice 3.2), a Commodore 64 Emulator. When trying to save the config I get a error msg. saying "Failed to save settings to default file." Does anybody have a clue why ? Could it be access problems ? Looks like it is trying to ...

Re: Upgraded from 18.3 to 19, fails to login.
Hi all, After two failed attempts at upgrade I decided to go for migration. This time I succeeded and are now happily at Mint 19 :D Since steps required are not more difficult than the upgrade I thought I'd share the steps I did. 1. To be on the safeside, start with backup. I did one full clone of m...

Re: Upgraded from 18.3 to 19, fails to login.
For the record I did try my second attempt today upgrading to 19. In the dryrun (mintupgrade check) it all seemed fine. After download (which took a long time) and install I got a lot of error messages about error in gconf2. Once again Timeshift saved me and I'm back on 18.3 Now I guess I will consi...

Re: Upgraded from 18.3 to 19, fails to login.
I don't think it's a kernel or graphic card issue. I tried to bootup in advanced mode trying different kernels. My PC runs kernel 4.10.0-40 and Nvidia GTX 1070 with Nvidia-396 driver. I do have a Blackmagic intensity pro that I was wondering could be the source of problems, but I see you guys have t...
