Dual boot Question

If I wanted to dual boot, or even triple boot, 2 or 3 different linux operating systems on one drive, would each of the 2 or 3, need their own swap area, or would one swap, do for all three?
Whatever the answer is, would it also apply to dual booting on a USB drive too?
Thank you

Questions about dual booting

I have some questions about dual booting Windows 7 with Linux Mint

1/ Should I tick the option Install Linux Mint alongside windows 7, & then adjust the size of the partitions

2/ If at a later date, I want to change the Mint for another Linux distro, how would i do that?

Thank you
