[SOLVED] Getting KDE Mixer from screen back to system tray

Using Rosa 17.3, when I bring up the system, KDE MIxer automatically comes up on the screen. I would either rather it not come up at all, or if it is to come up I would rather that it just be shown as an indicator in the system tray. Any idea where I can change the appropriate setting?

Re: Where does a new wallpaper go?

Ah, I see I needed to close the Desktop Settings dialog and relaunch it before newly installed items would appear.

Where does a new wallpaper go?

I did a Get New Wallpapers from Desktop Settings - Plasma Desktop Shell and installed one. But where do I go to actually find it so that I can actually select it for a desktop background?

Re: Device Notifier not working?

I got around the problem. Gave it to someone who runs Windows and he copied the data off for me.

Device Notifier not working?

Had trouble yesterday also and today I can't get the Device Notifier to notice that I've plugged in a USB device. Prior to this there there has never been an issue. Any recent update break anything? Is there some other way to mount the device? I usually have it open with file manager. It is an outsi...

Re: Prevent program from autostarting

Well, it was the only autostart folder where I found the program, a .desktop file, so I removed it and all is well. I don't know what program puts stuff there.

Re: Prevent program from autostarting

I had looked in the Autostart subsection but didn't see the program listed. Maybe it should have been put there initially when autostart was desired, in which case removing it would probably have disabled autostart. Thanks for your help.

Re: Prevent program from autostarting

Ah, yes. I had never thought to search there. I was just using find in konsole. Got it. Thanks.

Re: Prevent program from autostarting

Sorry, KDE 4.14.2. But in looking at System Settings I can find nothing related to autostart.

Re: Prevent program from autostarting

Yep, removing the .desktop file from ./etc/xdg/autostart (as root) did the trick. It seems there should be a more straightforward way to add or remove programs from autostarting than to have to search the system. But anyway, it worked.

Re: Prevent program from autostarting

I see no such settings. However, I think I may have found the autostart in ./etc/xdg/autostart. I did a find for anything called "autostart". About to reboot to try it.

Prevent program from autostarting

I am running LInux MInt 17.3. I can find no startup folder in System Settings or anywhere else. I am trying to prevent PSensor from autostarting. Is there any way to do it other than uninstalling the program?

Psensor not retaining settings over reboot

In Psensor 0.8.0.3 changing "temp1" to "Nvidia GPU" (as well as some other label changes) and rebooting, those changes were not saved. Likewise graphing options were not saved. Any way to have settings retained over a reboot?

Re: executing oracle-java8-installer

Downloaded it manually. Still don't know why the installer didn't work. An error message(s) indicating what it didn't like would have been nice.

Re: Unable to access factory-reset wired router

Negative. The manual is useful once a connection to the router has been established. It is of no value prior thereto. I'll just trash this router and get one from another manufacturer that offers support. Either that, or just do without one. Thanks for your help. By the way, I am not convinced it is...

Re: Unable to access factory-reset wired router

No, it has nothing to do with anything. I only mentioned it because you said you didn't know what it was. Ok, just had to recycle the modem and now I am back to my internet access again, with netstat -nr giving: Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface 0.0.0.0 96.32.80.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 ...

Re: Unable to access factory-reset wired router

I forgot that I had to reset my UPS this morning, so had lost power to the router. I again have no connectivity. When I did a netstat -nr I had NO entry. I recycled the router and now have again: netstat -nr (again giving me the following with no connectivity ) Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS ...
