Any reliable 1080P Laptop for Linux?
I want to buy a new laptop, when on sale, and switch the HDD to SDD if it does not have one, and run mint instead of windows. Looking for one with a good quality bright glossy screen 15.6 inch or wider, 1080p. Anyone know of a laptop that would fill my needs and not be too much of a headache to run ...

Re: Help to install Latest HPLIP version
I used the auto install from HP and followed all the prompts and it looked successful but when I tried to print from the printer, it would not respond. Just to make sure, connected the printer with the same USB cable to my win7 pc and all worked fine. Any ideas? When I enter in the terminal dpkg -l ...

Re: Help to install Latest HPLIP version
Hello Karl,
As always, thank you for your help. I was in a little bit of a bind and posted without searching, so I am very grateful for your response. I will give it a go and see if I can get it installed and my new printer working!

What is the Best Mobile Phone Website Emulator?
I'm looking for a mobile phone website emulator to see how a website would look on different mobile phones.
Anyone know of an accurate one? The ones I see don't seem to accurately reflect the way most mobile phones
reduce the website size in their phones.

Win-7 and Linux are on two separate PC's that I have.Habitual wrote:Read where?klrman wrote:I've read that people are doing this, but now "how" to do it.
Doesn't work for dualboot.
Both systems would have to be booted.
Tell us more.

Ah, one of the many reasons I hate windows, but only for motherboards I'm pretty sure it needs reactivation. Yeah, I better have a look see into the bios, thanks!

Re: Changing CPU Help
I thought about that too but "technically" the i3 has 4 threads where the 3258 has only two, but it seems to make a difference as when I have tons of graphic programs open, Linux with my 3258 sometimes can't handle it whereas with the i3 in windows, it just never hangs ever and since I use...

Re: Changing CPU Help
I was hoping that too. Would be a bummer if I had to re-install everything. Not sure if win-7 will figure out the new cpu either. I'm at the point that 99.99999999999999% of what I do is now on my Linux machine, so I might as well give it a better CPU since I've mostly given up on windows except for...

Changing CPU Help

Hi Karichen, Yes, it did solve the problem for "this" week. But who knows how it will go with next weeks session :D For the last few months, I've been using sudo apt-get upgrade regularly and my system was working great until the livenow session this week so I'll try and remember to keep o...
