Re: Nemo freezen when moving large data from trash

@Joe
After recreating the circumstances described in the OP using Double Commander in stead of Nemo, I'm not able to recreate the same issue with Trash.

So I will definitely use Double Commander to transfer data over 10mb in the future.

Re: Nemo freezen when moving large data from trash

The reason for this thread was that I was worried that I've fubar'ed my system all ready; more precisely an explanation regarding the "Trash" issue described in the OP. I suspect your system is fine. :) And I don't think you've lost any data, as the "move" is really a copy with delete upon success....

Re: Nemo freezen when moving large data from trash

Hey I've all ready installed Double Commander which is my favourite regarding the "two pane looks a bit like Total Commander" style file managers. :) The reason for this thread was that I was worried that I've fubar'ed my system all ready; more precisely an explanation regarding the "Trash" issue de...

Re: Nemo freezen when moving large data from trash

Hello JoeFootball thank you for your reply. When you mention problems with moving large files, does that include moving files from Trash, to locations where the items are not coming from originally? I've not yet encountered issues with moving larger amounts of data with Nemo since they introduced th...

Nemo freezen when moving large data from trash

Hi I have never before encountered this behaviour from Nemo, and I'm not sure if this is a real problem. What happens: I've been moving data back and forth from the /home folder, and other system connected drives, and If I move a folder to Trash and then try to relocate that data in the Trash to an...

Native language in VLC [SOLVED]

Hello I've just installed Linux Mint Cinnamon 19,3 64 bit from scratch, and I'm using Danish as the system language. I've installed VLC player using Mintinstall, and VLC is in English. And unlike in MS windows, there is no option to change the language. I can't find any language pack for VLC in Mint...

Re: Mintmenu Preferences Cinnamon 4.2

@smurphos: Thank you for your reply. That makes sense. I guess I got the idea from the blog, where Clem talks about "develop preferences windows" and Cinnamon developers in the same section. Quote: Not only will this make writing preferences easier, it will also give Cinnamon and other projects a mo...

Mintmenu Preferences Cinnamon 4.2 [SOLVED]

Hello I was assuming that the Mintmenu Preferences were given a new look for Linux Mint 19.2, Clem is mentioning it here: Please look under settings widgets: https://blog.linuxmint.com/?m=201906 The screenshot of the Mintmenu Preferences: https://www.linuxmint.com/tmp/blog/3751/thumb_mintmenu-prefer...

Re: [SOLVED] Update has broken Wine

Well, I was prompted to install an extra Wine package (the development thing) by the terminal output when I ran winecfg , so that's what I did and it worked. That's all I know, I'm not a guru. Looks like you and your Danish friend have got several wine editions of different versions installed now t...

Re: [SOLVED] Update has broken Wine

@Moem: I'm not sure if the new files are needed, because the wine versions needed for running the few legacy games I've installed in POL, use the wine version that's installed in POL in ~/.PlayOnLinux/wine - and the newest available wine version is v 3.20, because POL is discontinued. I'm considerin...

Re: [SOLVED] Update has broken Wine

I can't reproduce the playonlinux removal. I tested both 32 and 64 bit, there's no conflict with playonlinux, are you using a PPA version or something? Hi Clem. No I don't have any ppa's at all. I installed POL after installation of Linux Mint 19 64 bit, Cinnamon, and the necessary wine got install...

FWIW the wine update in question also uninstalls playonlinux. I had to roll back and blacklist the wine update.

Re: Redshift and geoclue2 [WORKAROUND]

Summerof69 check this guide: https://itsfoss.com/install-redshift-linux-mint/ . I've just checked synaptic package manager, and I do have the full geoclue-2 package installed, and I've compared the installed files with the screenshot you've provided, and the only one missing is the /etc/xdg/autosta...

Re: Redshift and geoclue2 [WORKAROUND]

Another thing regarding the geoclue service is, that the position retrieved by geoclue is the positon of my ISP.

Personally I think that the redshift.conf is not only a workaround but a better solution, at least on my network.

Re: Redshift and geoclue2 [WORKAROUND]

@Celmer: I have not installed the full geoclue.2 package, I'm using the default installation of geoclue.2 that comes with Linux Mint 19 :)
