Re: Is Thunderbird a free mail client? [Solved]

Ah, I thought it was a provider as well so when I went into the setup utility for gandi.net mail all the options were paid sites. Thanks Catweazel. I used the Thunderbird that was already installed thinking it would be an all_in_one solution. Moem - Thanks for clearing that up, I will try Zoho or GM...

Is Thunderbird a free mail client? [Solved]

Hi I am using Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon desktop and I recently made plans to go to a broadband IP that unfortunately doesn't have an email server (I thought all IP's did have them) so they suggested g-mail or outlook. As I don't like either of these companies I thought of using Thunderbird as all the...

Re: [Solved] Google Earth won't download/install on Mint Cinnamon 18.3

Moem - I would have to say I'm a little uncomfortable delving under the hood with build scripts as I'm fairly new to Linux and I have Google Earth working now. I don't use it for any professional reasons, just to search for new areas to ride my bicycle etc. But thanks anyway. :)

Re: Google Earth won't download/install on Mint Cinnamon 18.3

Joe2shoe - I tried both methods of install (from the terminal and the software manager) however I just tried Jimallyn's older Google Earth and it installed with no problems and works fine. I think I like the fact that I don't use Google Chrome as well Thank you all for your assistance with this, I r...

Re: Google Earth won't download/install on Mint Cinnamon 18.3

Unfortunately still no luck with installing Google Earth, no logo and a search of All Files comes up empty for anything Google Earth related. Strange that this is the only thing I have had trouble installing from the Software Manager, all my other programs installed fine including games and Viking (...

[Solved] Google Earth won't download/install on Mint Cinnamon 18.3

I am unable to install Google Earth on Linux Mint Sylvia. I'm having the same problem as wallyUSA https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=258249 and have tried clicking continue on the box for each of the additional software packages and nothing happens. I also tried the sudo apt method of...

Re: google-earth package: How to install/find? 18.3 Cinnamon

I'm having the same problem and have tried clicking continue on the box for each of the additional software packages and nothing happens. I also tried the sudo apt method of installing and it installed a heap of packages but when it finished it stated that some packages were missing and didn't elabo...

Re: Deleted game menu icon by mistake

Thank you all for your help, I thought it wouldn't work at first but you can't just drop the image in usr/share/app-install/icons you also have to edit the Menu itself and choose an image
Everything is fine now :-)

Re: Deleted game menu icon by mistake

Sorry I may have explained my problem poorly, I mean the icon for starting the game from the desktop menu, not the icons in the game itself. I have attached a screenshot of the menu from my desktop to explain. Note the highlighted Minetest does not have an icon like the other items in the start menu...

[Solved] Deleted game menu icon by mistake

I recently broke Minetest with a mod and deleting it using Un-install so as to re-install a clean version failed, so after doing a search using root I found all the files that had failed to delete and deleted them. I was then able to re-install the game and it works fine now. The problem is I accide...

Re: X-Plane 10 Installer Linux nonresponsive

I had the same problem and solved it by going into System Settings and opening Desktop and switching Mounted Volumes to ON, this makes the drive visible on the desktop. When you eject the first disk, use the eject symbol in files and not the button on the drive (I don't know why this works). Sometim...

Updater broken - No Package Header [Solved]

I have been using Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon and until recently the updater has worked without problems, however when I started my computer this morning the updater gave the message: Encountered a section with no package header Problem with MergeList/var/lib/apt/lists/archive, ubuntu.com_ubunto_dists_...

Hi I'm new to Linux and I wondered if theres an alternative to Flash for watching You-tube videos. I have heard that Flash is not always secure.
