Re: Bluetooth not working!

Got it working! I removed everything "bluetooth related," rebooted the machine and reinstalled the required packages and it worked.

Re: Bluetooth not working!

Looking in the package manager and it appears I have everything installed. Yes, I also have Blueman Manager installed. It could be a case of missing dependencies, the problem is I haven't enough CLI knowledge to figure out how to install anything that is missing. Help required.

[Solved] Bluetooth not working!

For reasons that are too embarrassing to go into, I had to do a clean install of Linux Mint 19,2. Everything except Bluetooth is working as before. In the menu - preferences - Bluetooth, once clicked it comes up with a message that, "No Bluetooth Adapters Found". Question; Where do I find the adapte...

[SOLVED] Typing in a foreign language

If I was to buy a German Keyboard, would it work in Linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon?
I want to write to my family in Germany and I need to use umlauts etc.

To do that I need to be able to play the video file which at present I can't. I get a message telling me the codec Video/x-av1 decoder is missing. I admit I'm not very ...

youtube music

I've been trying to download some music using the youtube-dl GUI downloader and keep getting this message. [Video/x-av1 decoder missing]. I've looked online and cannot find a solution, any ideas? Naturally, I updated youtube-dl before I started.

Re: [SOLVED] Bottom Panel disappeared after upgrade to 19.2

The Ctrl +Alt+T cinnamon-settings panel
This did the trick, I created a new panel by clicking on the bottom bar and all my icons reappeared like magic.
Thanks for your help.

[SOLVED] Bottom Panel disappeared after upgrade to 19.2

How do I get my bottom panel back? I have lost all my panel shortcuts including the Menu button after upgrading from LM019.1 to LM 19.2 using the official upgrade facility in the Upgrade Manager. I guess there is a way to rectify this, it's just that I don't know how! Without the Menu Button, there ...

Connecting two Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon Computers?

For convenience, I successfully set up a Samba Server to link up both computers that are situated in different parts of the house, but it only gives me access to a single newly created dedicated folder that shows on both computers. However, I have noticed that in Mint 19 there is no File Sharing opt...

Increase toolbar & menubar text size in Firefox 59.0?

My eye-sight is very good but I find that the Menu bar and Toolbar size too small for comfort. Does anyone know how to increase the sizes? I've looked online and in the Firefox help without success. I know that Firefox is the preferred Browser for Linux Mint (comes with the distro) but the top-scree...

How do I configure a BT Hub5-N568 as WiFi Extender?

I recently upgraded my WiFi to a BT Hub6-8F26 from a BT Hub5-N568. I now want to use my old Hub5 as an extender to strengthen the Wifi signal at the far end of our apartment. I have all the wall socket plugins in place and now I need to configure the old Hub5. How do I do that? Most youtube videos o...

Not so much a newcomer, but a oldcomer!

I've been on this forum now for several years and never really got around to introducing myself. I'm nearly 72 yrs old and still as curious about new things as I was 50 yrs ago. In the mid 90s I was introduced to Microsoft Windows 3.1 and stuck with it until XP. I don't play games or have a need for...

Well after attempting all the recommended solutions as to why Youtube refused to load and play on Firefox 57 I eventually called it a day. However, I did find Waterfox and with the help of you guys I was able to get it installed ... and it does load and play Youtube. So I conclude, I may have lost F...

Re: Firefox57.0.1 and Youtube?

Thanks for your reply. I typed in Firefox 57 and Youtube into the Youtube search and got plenty of people complaining of the same problem. As I wrote previously, there were a lot of 'fixes' offered, but none of them worked for me. If I could figure out how to install Waterfox from a tar file that en...

Re: Firefox57.0.1 and Youtube?

Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. I haven't tried another profile yet, I'll leave that until all other ideas have been exhausted. I also use Chromium and that will load and play Youtube page and videos. Firefox has always been my browser of choice and I would still like to use it. Howeve...
