I did my best to help you in your previous version of this question. Were my answers so unclear? You could have asked me to clarify.

Except for the fact that OP does not want to keep 21.3, but wants to overwrite it.

Re: How to install Mint 22 while Mint 21.3 is installed on the same machine?

IF Mint installer is informed to install "something else" during the installation, how do I know the partition currently contains Mint 21.3? Many partitions will be showing during the installation procedures. I do not know how to tell which is what? You should check that beforehand. In fa...

Re: How to install Mint 22 while Mint 21.3 is installed on the same machine?

Make a bootable USB stick with the new version, and boot from that. Start the installer and choose the 'Something else' installation method. Point the installer to the partition where Mint 21.3 is currently installed. Let it install. Of course, you should be very sure that all your important files a...

Re: unable to see full text when using larger fonts for desktop

I am on the try without installing DVD just now, and with the Appearance program, the fonts tab where I selected the font sizes to be 10, I cannot see any scaling option. Which specific version? I was assuming Cinnamon because you did not mention it, but Cinnamon does not have a settings page calle...

Re: unable to see full text when using larger fonts for desktop

Hi, I have a 3840 x 2160 27" screen, where the default fonts are way too small, where I literally need a lens. so I increase all the system fonts to setting 20, and this is much nicer. Have you tried using scaling of the fonts instead? It's the setting in the lower half of the same settings wi...

Re: installing new versions of Linux Mint to the same partition?

can I upgrade to that same partition in a way which keeps all my settings and stuff eg scripts? Yes. If you do an upgrade through the Update Manager, all settings and scripts will be kept. I can't answer the other question because the normal upgrade method for upgrading within the same version (21....

Re: Keuze notebook

Re: Can't install Linux Mint through Ubuntu: Error unknown filesystem type iso 9660

If there is an .iso on your stick, then it's not actually bootable. If the .iso is used to create a bootable medium, the contents of the medium will be a complete OS, and not an .iso. It sounds like you copied the .iso to the stick and that's never going to work. I think you need to look at your met...

See if anything here can do the job for you. Do keep in mind that it's unlikely you will find all the same features implemented in exactly the same way.

That is not known, because Mint does not run on a regular upgrade schedule. But I would expect it this summer.

Re: How to get notification of new Linux Mint release

The Update Manager will only update automatically if you've set it to do so. If you've never opened it, then you haven't. You should maybe pay attention to the update manager icon on your panel; it will inform you about updates. New Mint releases do come with a notification these days, as far as I k...
