Re: "Enter your password to move your mouse"

You didn't do that though... you gave them a way to do it, not a pointer, and refrained from adding a warning, which would have been a good idea in my view.

But... A few posts earlier, you called that person "he" yourself. How is one supposed to figure that out?
One might conclude that the OP was mistaken, discovered this, and corrected themselves, and follow suit by speaking of the person as 'she' from here on out.

Re: Panel icons size or shape

I was just so comfortable with the old Panel.... Here's something simple you could look at: - Open the Menu . - Find the menu search box . Type into that: 'welcome' - The Welcome screen menu entry should pop up; click on it to open the Welcome screen. - Go to the First Steps tab. - On that tab, you...

Re: A quesion about updating the kernel

I note that Update Manager wants me to "Please setup System Snapshots" although that does not appear to be required to install the kernel packages. I already have a backup process in place for my VMs so I do not need the OS to perform this service and take up more disk space. Timeshift (system snap...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think "cc" in e-mails is short for carbon copy.
No, you're not wrong, that's exactly what it is.

Re: I do NOT miss winduhs!!

With the recent "bad" changes made to Update Manager from LM 18.2 onward, ie to "push" users to install all updates, will "pushy" Linux Mint end up similar or the same as today's forceful Winduhs 10 wrt buggy updates borking/breaking computers.? Can you please give this poor tired hobby horse some ...

Re: Removing Windows AND installing Mint

Hello and welcome! Installing Mint on them will, for pretty much all intents and purposes, erase/remove Windows (unless you explicitly tell the installer to retain Windows, which you won't). It will also install LibreOffice (which is like OpenOffice but more up to date) and Firefox. I'd say that bri...

Even if that's the question being asked, that doesn't make it a question about Linux Mint.

Re: Who can help where to find a wired mouse, which cord doesnt get entangled?

How do you feel abour trackball mice? They don't get entangled because they don't go anywhere. Personally I strongly prefer them over more traditional mice, but they're not to everyone's taste and they typically cost more than 15€.

Just noticed that there are two different styles for Cinnamon
Yep! That's exactly what I meant. You can switch to the other style from the Welcome screen, which you can start from the menu. Just type 'welcome' in the menu search box and it should come up.

Re: HOW?

Windows programs working with Wine seem to sometimes have a problem seeing and using USB sticks in Linux. Try copying the contents of the USB stick to a location on your harddisk, and see if that helps.
