Re: Instaling Linux Mint

You don't go to a folder/icon while booted into Windows. You boot to the DVD instead of booting into Windows.

I have to reinstall my 6 email addresses.
Which email client are you using? Generally, it's possible to backup your profile (inclding account data and saved emails) and put the whole thing in your new installation, and have everything back.

Re: Mouse long left click to rename

For bulk renaming operations, I use GPRename. It's in the Software Manager.

This output is all text, and it would be easier to read if you could post it as text.

Re: My thread location

... okay, now I see that you have edited the first post so it's now about something else.
You can find your own threads by opening the "Quick Links" drop down menu at the left hand top of the page, below the Linux Mint forum logo, and choosing "Your Posts".

Re: My thread location

System Info.
Should be in the menu.

Try typing 'system info' into the menu search box; that should make it pop up.

Re: ram location

System Info should be in your menu, and can tell you this. At least, if you mean that you need to know how much RAM you have.

Welkom tommiedepommie! Ik heb van je posting een aparte draad gemaakt, want ik denk niet dat iemand die Mint 19 gebruikt gauw gaat kijken in een oud onderwerp over Mint 18.

Re: Version of Linux that Comes with VLC and WiFi Drivers Pre-Installed?

I tried using a WiFi dongle for the Internet, but it didn't work because the computer didn't have the necessary drivers. An easy solution would be to get a different dongle, that doesn't need drivers (or works with those already present in Mint). I know that this is possible because I got some on A...

Re: New PC

I was told if you have a PC with Windows installed on it-it will conflict. That need not be the case. Most of the computers that people use for Linux-based OSes had Windows installed when they were bought. It's almost always possible to replace Windows by Linux Mint; in most cases, it's also possib...

And I remembered a little ditty from my childhood.
What do the sea lion and the seal lie on?
I suppose the answer is "the ice" or "the beach".
I would guess it's "the seabed". It's funnier that way.

Re: The Face of Linux Mint Support

There's nothing weak minded about wanting to have a civil conversation without some person struggling to feel important on the Internet slinging mud at you. I concur. And a 'zoo' is not the best place for offering technical support, especially to newcomers. Keeping it civil simply makes this forum ...

Re: Pidgin is broken

That did not help. So I decided to be a bit more radical about it, opened my file manager, and found .purple in the home folder. Inside .purple, I found telegram-purple, and renamed it in order to make it inaccessible. Then when I started Pidgin, it started just fine... a new telegram-purple folder ...
