Re: it's complicated

1 I did not. I do not have such a thing, nor do I know how It's the DVD or USB stick that you used to install Linux Mint from. 2 what is DE Desktop environment. A specific 'flavour' or version of Mint. Yours is Cinnamon; it's the one that needs the most resources and it also requires pretty decent ...

Re: A Year On Linux... And I'm Already Leaving Linux!

OH MY GOD!!!! I made a very humorous "where am I now on this journey so far" post, and thus far I've been accused of being: a liar, a troll, a paranoiac, a techie posing as a n00b, a noob posing as a techie, and a political agitator! No one has called you a political agitator. I assume yo...

Re: How to give root permission at user

No, not at all weird. You could not log in because the partition was full; you deleted some stuff, the partition was no longer full, you could log in again. This was never a password problem or a permission problem. It was always a full partition problem. And no, the brand of the computer is not rel...

If you feel the need to apologize beforehand, that usually means you're about to do something you shouldn't have.

From my point of view, I'd be interested to know if anyone is actually using Mint successfully with Skype, Zoom, or Teams?
Zoom works fine for me. I have downloaded the appimage.

Re: Why I like Linux better then Windows

Is there someone who knows if any other Linux Kernel has problem to play sound if one has a Dell Latitude E6420 with PulseAudio sound drivers? I would suggest that you ask this valid question in the section about sound, multimedia and codecs . It will be easier to find and attract more attention, e...

Re: A Year On Linux... And I'm Already Leaving Linux!

I don't think of 50 year old command-line utils as being "tech" as 99.9% of people think of it I may be in the 0,1% but that definitely counts as 'tech' for me. Liking a niche operating system means you like tech... not all tech, probably not even most tech, likely not newer tech, but cer...

Does a browser need to be pre-installed at all?
Yes, if you're going to make a distro and present it as fully-featured (which is how Mint tends to be presented), people will expect a browser, as well as a word processor... and arguably a mail client.
