Re: AI's future
Facebook is probably not the original source. It's probably been published by someone, somewhere. It would be good to have that context.

Re: Speech recognitions software for Linux Mint Cinnamon
I don't know how well it works, but you could install Speech Note from the Software Manager (it's a flatpak) and see if it fulfills your needs.

Re: Got a Smartphone? (who doesn't) Watch what you say on it
And that is why I don't have an Android or iOS phone, and don't use Facebook, Google, Amazon, or any Meta products. And my phone doesn't show me any ads.
I do have a smartphone.
I do have a smartphone.

Re: Updating Inkscape
Edit it to mark it as an executable program... otherwise it won't run. This is done on the Permissions tab of the Properties-window. Just rightclick, as instructed, and choose Properties.fast_and_the_curious wrote: ⤴Tue Sep 03, 2024 11:14 am why would I right-click on the downloaded file to edit its properties? Edit what?

Then maybe you should wait a bit, for example for 22.1.

Re: Telegram founder Pavel Durov arrested in France, reports say
I don't use Telegram (or any other social network). My impression, correct me if I'm wrong, is that both ends of the conversation must be using Telegram to incorporate E to E encryption, much like encrypted email providers such as Proton, Tuta or Posteo. Both ends of the conversation must be using ...

Re: Telegram founder Pavel Durov arrested in France, reports say
That claim is slightly off the mark. Telegram is end-to-end encrypted IF you use the Secret Chat feature. If you don't, it's not. But why is that funny? Because it gives the false perception to the public that it's an E2EE application when it is not. Even the Secret Chat feature uses a homegrown cr...

Re: Pinta (system package) gone
flatpak apps at ~1GB each just to download and 2-3GB to unpack is not for me. They're not actually that large. Once you have more than one, they start sharing runtimes. It's unfortunate that the Software Manager can only tell you the maximum size, not the actual size in your particular case. And th...

Or you could get a bread maker. It's a very efficient way to bake bread and you still get to decide what goes in it.sportsfan7702 wrote: ⤴Thu Aug 08, 2024 9:46 am Cool! I need the time to do that and time is at a premium these days
