Re: When did you come to Linux?

When did you come to Linux? I think the universal answer to this question is: "Later than I should have" That's not how it feels for me. I came to Linux when the time felt right... and when I had had enough of Windows, so I had a reason. I'm not sure it would have worked for me if I'd tried it earl...

Re: Preserve /home

I'm not sure that's a thing. Well, apparently it is, but I've never bothered.
You verified the download, and that's what counts. Will it run?

Re: Preserve /home

Choose the manual / 'something else' installation option, point to the existing home partition to be mounted as /home again, and make very sure the box on 'format' is not ticked.

Re: Dual monitor pop ups issue

Hello, can you please post the result of the following terminal command, and enclose it in code tags? That's the button marked </> . This is needed for pretty much any question about your system, so it's a good habit to post it straight away. inxi -Fxz If you're having trouble doing this, let me kno...

Re: Remove Popup

No command line. Here's another route to the same place:
- Open Preferences, choose 'applets'.
- In the list of applets that comes up, find 'window list' and click the Configure button.
- Switch 'show window thumbnails on hover' OFF.
That's it.

Considering hardly anyone use bookmarks (less than 0.1% of the users really use them) I don't want to clutter the quick links with that.
Fair enough, but I'd have used them more if there were a convenient way to get to them!

the floors in my home are concrete, and they are definitely cooler in the winter time.
We have concrete floors too... they are warmer in the winter.
Probably because we installed underfloor heating.

As a side note, you should lose the all caps from your title and the big and colourful letters from your post...
I agree. It's distracting and makes things harder to read, not easier.

Re: I am tired and I want to go to bed...

The problem is that now it is getting colder during winter, my matress gets harder, because it reacts to temperature. The colder it gets, the harder the matrass gets, the worse I feel after one night sleep. And in summer, the warmer it is, the softer the mattress gets, the deeper you'll sink into i...
