Re: Phy0 Wireless LAN : Hard Blocked (YES)

are you talking about that button with signal on it? The one that we activate with fn? I don't know, it's your machine. It may have that button you mentioned, plus a separate one. Most laptops have a WiFi switch that can be operated before the OS has started, so you can start it safely in condition...

Re: Why is Bleachbit removing 700 MB on Mint 19?

With some (most?) Garmins, you can also switch to OpenStreetmaps and those can be updated by loading new map material onto an SD card. I'd look into it if I were you, this is how our Garmin Nũvi gets updated regularly. Would like to learn more about this. Hate having to pull out my Win7 laptop just...

Re: Phy0 Wireless LAN : Hard Blocked (YES)

Is there a physical switch (a button) for wireless on your machine? You might want to check it. It sounds silly but it happens a lot that this switch is in the wrong position and someone doesn't realise and spends hours trying to get the WiFi to work.

Re: Advice For Linux Newbies - 7 Principles

I don't know, I think there are plenty of people for whom a forum is a feasible option but IRC is just a bridge too far. I don't spend much time in the Mint help IRC channel but the few times I have, it's a very busy place. I don't doubt it. But you'll never see my mother using it. You might, howev...

Re: Why is Bleachbit removing 700 MB on Mint 19?

my project this morning was to install W10 so I could update the maps in my Garmin. it ended up taking most of the day... nasty program, crappy installer. With some (most?) Garmins, you can also switch to OpenStreetmaps and those can be updated by loading new map material onto an SD card. I'd look ...

Re: Scroll bars invisible

I tried to look at the theme config section, I have options to change the appearance of the task bar has well has window borders but it won't change the scroll bars and sliders. Try the different options in the Controls section of the Themes window, that setting has a lot of influence. Some options...

When I reboot I do NOT usually get asked for a password.
I did not suggest rebooting, I suggested to log out of the session. After all, you had already tried rebooting.

Edison, I'd suggest you subscribe to the thread. There's an option for that in the drop down menu below every thread, it's the spanner icon.

Sorry, do you mean Redshift? If so: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=265618 . But you could maybe also simply adjust the settings of the monitor.

Re: LInux Mint " nieuwe " ISO's
