Re: Installed Mint bootloader over windows C partition
It looks like your Windows is broken because it was partially overwritten. If I were you, I would rescue all the data before doing anything else: copy all your files to a USB stick or external harddisk. After that, maybe you can do some kind of recovery. If all else fails, I'm assuming you can reins...

Re: How can I change the desktop font size?
18.3 has a fonts option to change the fonts and their sizes for desktop, documents and stuff but I can't see that option in 19.1. How can I change them? And why would they remove it in the first place? If they had removed it, then it would not be possible to change them, so there would be no use in...

Re: Need help removing old kernels.
That button is a very recent feature and it simply wasn't around yet in Mint 17 (or 18). But you can select individual installed kernels, and the 'remove' (or it may be 'uninstall') button will appear. So scroll through the list, look for any kernels that show as installed (and not active), and remo...

I don't watch instruction/tutorial videos. Can you describe the method in a sentence or two?

Re: Privacy; should you even bother?
Back to the main point: What I would like to see here is a separate "Privacy and Security" section on the main board to facilitate advances in this vital area. If you don't think its important today, you will tomorrow. You're not the first to ask and you won't be the last, but there are reasons why...

Re: Linux mint
I think you'll have a much better chance to find and copy the data to an external medium, than to try and run the actual program. Wine is never guaranteed to work, it's a bit of a hack and you're lucky if it happens to work with the software you wish to use. That said, check the Wine app database to...

Re: Linux Mint Internet ?
There sort of is (Wine), but it does not always work and it's not really recommended for a beginner, as a first step. It's kinda finicky, and as I said, it doesn't always work. There are lots of games that run natively on Linux. Asking 'is Linux Mint not even able to run a game?' sounds somewhat unf...

Re: Problems with installation on multiple distros
No, but not all distros are created equal. For older systems, you'll get better results with a suitable distro and desktop environment. KDE may simply not be a good choice on < 2GB of RAM.Linux.Blue wrote: ⤴Tue Feb 19, 2019 9:33 pmAre the days of running Linux on older systems invalid now?

Re: g-parted

Yes, I know that's what you said. I'm just wondering what makes you believe that, and whether it's based on information or more on gut feeling.
