EU-eans having to [...] use less appealing non-Google-Android phones
I can't imagine such a phone. For me, anything non-Google is automatically more appealing. And I know I'm not alone in that.

Re: Decision Time

I can't decide for you. I can only tell you how many times I booted into Windows on my dual boot laptop: Twice. During the first week. After that, not one single time in two years. So I removed it completely. That's a year ago and I haven't missed it once. But your usage may be different, so like I ...

Re: panel settings, especially taskbar

I tend to keep a fair number of things open at once and find that my panel, and the taskbar in particular, could use some tweaking. Sorry, this is confusing... what are you calling a taskbar and what are you calling a panel? In Linux Mint, the bar at (most often) the bottom of the screen is as a wh...

Re: Firefox themes don't work despite being same version as W10?

This is a bit of a guess, but 'platform independent' usually means that you can install the program on different platforms because it has versions for those platforms. You can't download Firefox-for-Windows on Linux and expect it to install, right? I'm not sure whether that's the reason why you can'...

Re: Google to charge Europe

I don't think I ever used Internet Explorer. I always favoured Netscape, and then Firefox, and Opera on my Blackberrys, because they were second hand and I didn't have access to RIM servers. Always worked! For me it was Netscape, then K-Meleon, then for a long time SeaMonkey (which is pretty much a...

A chat topic is not the best place for troubleshooting. Just saying'. It's better to direct the folks who want to help you to your existing suppurt request topics.

Re: Google to charge Europe

Will there be incentive for companies to develop Google-free platforms? How would they make sure they do it while (a) it still being financially profitable and (b) not run afoul of the EU themselves? I honestly don't know how they would do it or whether it's even possible, but it seems clear to me ...

Re: Install LM19 without timeshift and new update application?

It's completely possible to install LM19 and
- not use Timeshift, and switch off any notification that you haven't set it up yet
- configure the Update Manager to work exactly like the previous version, except there are 4 levels, not 5 like you may be used to.

my current C drive isn't presently partitioned at all, and has 128gB free of 233Gb.
Those two statements cannot both be true. Since it's not all free/unallocated space, there is something on it, and that something would necessarily be inside a partition.
