Re: LM20 ethernet download speed < 20Mbps

Re: LibreOffice wont print - printer works fine (SOLVED)

I fixed this problem. The fix was to delete the printer applet on the taskbar. LO shows my installed printer as default printer. At least I got the latest LO. :)

Re: Win Malware MS77X1 running in mint 20 (SOLVED)

Thanks for the replies. I had my sister do a "refresh" on firefox. This hasn't showed up since. What was interesting was after a reboot it would show up without the browser open. I will have her check the startup programs just in case. I had her install firejail right after mint install. As for wher...

Stealth dual boot (SOLVED)

Its the weekend and I have time on my hands. So I'm thinking, could it be possible to setup dual boot with the grub menu in a kind of stealth mode? Instead of a choice of OS to boot, say windows and linux, it only shows "windows booting" for 5 seconds. During this 5 sec you would enter a "three fing...

re-align conky object

I am having trouble to line-up an object in my conky. I would like the line to start 5 places to the right, same as the two other. Model name should line up over Freq and Temp. Text from file is here: CPU ${hr 2} ${execi 86400 cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep 'model name' | sed -e 's/model name.*: //'| uniq...

Re: Seeking recommendations for secure email please

I have some experience in Telecommunications. The only secure method of communicating is face to face in a secure place. Analogue phones can be tapped, if they still exist, anything digital is worse. Email providers are just a medium of exchange. I like GS3's method, keep control of the info and sec...

text from Android

I have a no-name "smart phone" running Android. I turned everything off. WiFi, bluetooth, data and apps. I only use it as phone. Android version is from 2016. Lately I am getting a text message from Android saying there is free wifi available. Not in my 'hood. Android wants me to update I guess. No ...

Re: MP4 file will not play firejail config? (SOLVED)

This "problem" is not a firejail problem at all. Firejail is working great according to its default profile for the app. The solution is to move the MP4 files into the /home/Video directory. One could modify the profile but for a not so savvy computer user, its best to use with the defaults. Learn s...

MP4 file will not play firejail config? (SOLVED)

I am asking for a friend. Using Mint 19.2 cinnamon with firejail. Mp4 files from a LG phone downloaded into /home/pictures. Mplayer will not play them, but moving the file into Desktop or Downloads, Mplayer will play the files. So I think this is a firejail config setting. Error occured: You are not...
