Re: Courious lags every 60 seconds on Linux Mint Vanessa
On Mint MATE 20.3 I had this behaviour too. Mouse and keyboard lagging after, yes, might be around 60 seconds each time. Whatever I had tried, nothing helped. I had only experienced this on one of my Notebooks, equipped with an Intel i7-10870H and a GeForce RTX 3070 Mobile/Max Q. A friend who has th...

[HowTo] Mint 21 MATE - Greatly enhance panel features with Ayatana Indicators
Hi all, since Mint 21 it is (finally!) possible to use the ayatana indicators in MATE, which greatly enhances productivity. Especially two things are standing out for MATE, because they have been missed dearly: Adding the Date Time functionality of showing Calendar appointments in the panel when ope...

Re: Closing the window by clicking on the mouse wheel leaves a preview image of this window
I can confirm this behavior in MATE 20.2 and 20.3. It happened using either display manager, Marco or Compiz. Since I use Compiz display manager anyway, I solved this for me like this: Disable the preview windows in the settings of the window list panel element launch CCM (CompizConfig Settings Mana...

Re: 20.3 regression
regrresions in Mint 20.3 Anyone else notice that Update Manager tray icon does not work properly when using Compiz window manager? Always worked properly before 20.3. Now it works one time only Same regression using MATE and Xfce with Compiz Can others please confirm? I think this niggle needs to b...

Re: Mint 20.3 MATE MintUpdate opening only once after session start
Since there doesn't seem to be a solution to this, I filed a new bug report in Linux Mint github under mintupdate issues.
Hopefully the devs will be looking into this and be able to fix it.

Re: Mint 20.3 MATE MintUpdate opening only once after session start
I have done some tests and have tracked down the issue a bit further. This behavior only occurs when using Compiz as the display Manager. I had already used Compiz in MATE 20.2, and it was not an issue then. So something must have changed after the Upgrade to 20.3. Also I have tested this on a fresh...

Re: Where is Pluma 1.26?
If your a bit adventurous and don't mind the possibly that you might need to do a reinstall of your OS. There is a PPA for MATE 1.26 available for Ubuntu MATE 20.04 LTS. I do not advise using the "apt upgrade" command, but just get pluma, eom, atril using synaptic and then disable the PPA...

Mint 20.3 MATE MintUpdate opening only once after session start
After upgrading my system from Mint MATE 20.2 to 20.3 everything seems to work fine except the update manager. When I click on the icon in the system tray, mintUpdate opens correctly and I can install the updates. After that, clicking the icon again, for example whenever a new update has arrived, th...

Re: [solved] Where is Pluma 1.26?
oh that would be great yes! Seems some Mint X-applications are somehow bound to symbolic monochrome icons, no matter the icon theme. Pluma and other applications change accordingly. Systray icons for volume and update manager (except network icon in MATE) are also bound to monochrome symbolic. But t...

Re: [solved] Where is Pluma 1.26?
yes, indeed. I use the elementary-xfce-darker icon theme for that purpose. Gives me wonderful icons, not only in pluma, but also in Caja, and on the left sidebar in caja too, colorful icons for the places, and also a nicer colorful network icon in the system tray

Re: Where is Pluma 1.26?
Oh thank you so much for the information. It's not a deal breaker for me but I have just wondered why. Pluma got some nice updates in 1.26 so I wanted to have a look. I have never built something from source, maybe it's time to start learning! Sure I could also use Xed but I don't like the monochrom...

[solved] Where is Pluma 1.26?
Hey,
I have just installed Mint Mate 20.3 and also installed Pluma, but Pluma is still 1.24, although MATE version is 1.26.
How to get Pluma 1.26?
Thanks for any help

Re: Deja-Dup Caja Integration?
Hi, this bug in the 'deja-dup-caja' package has already been fixed, but not uploaded for 20.04 LTS yet, hence not in the Mint repositories either. But you can apply the fix for yourself - I have tested it in Mint Mate 20.2 and it works fine. Steps: Open https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jammy/+source/dej...

Re: Mounted Network folders are filling up local diskspace?
Thank you so very much, WharfRat. Now a lot of things are a lot more transparent to me :) To make sure that I understood it right: And if files are being copied into such a folder, what happens when the connection is back up? Then the files on that filesystem will be accessed. Does that mean, that i...

Re: Mounted Network folders are filling up local diskspace?
Great thank you so much! Is this a common behaviour in Linux that mountpoints that are not connected are being used as local folders instead while the NAS folders are offline? And if files are being copied into such a folder, what happens when the connection is back up? I mean, some of the files mig...

Re: Mounted Network folders are filling up local diskspace?
Thank you WharfRat for this information! That was indeed the case, because I had no connection for a few days and the data was stored in these folders nevertheless, but like you said, obviously as normal folders. Could you or someone else please explain to me in short, how I could prevent mountpoint...

[Solved] Mounted Network folders are filling up local diskspace?
Hi everyone, I recently experienced a strange behaviour with my mounted network folders and I hope someone here can explain me what is happening and why. I successfully set up fstab to automatically mount 4 folders that are located on my WD MycloudMirror NAS. So far so good. Aside from a few permiss...

Re: HDMI + Sound + Mint 18
Same problem for me as well.
Seems to switch output from HDMI to internal speaker as soon as there is a longer break, once even after starting and closing virtualbox.
17.3 did remember last used output, so must be something within 18.
Please Fix
