Thinkpad t440p trackpad upgrade

Hi all, so I have a T440P, I bought an alps touchpad for it, but I cant get it to work, I don't know if the ribbon cable to the touchpad is damaged, or if I need a driver for it, what I do know is that the new touchpad is definitely apls and not synaptic.

any help would be much appreciated (:

Re: Anyone running Mint on a Lenovo ThinkPad T480s?

Linux in general is perfectly compatable with more then 90% of the lenovo thinkpads, if you want one cheap you can get a used T4 or T5 for around 100$ on ebay in perfect working condition, though it may not come with a dedicated GPU, if you want one new though I would recommend the T580, it comes wi...

Re: Radeon hd 3200

I upgraded my CPU the other day from a single core @ 1.6 GHZ to dual core @ 1.8 GHZ , and in doing so I noticed about a 40% increase in overall fps, maybe this means my gpu isn't the bottleneck?, I am trying to run pcsx2 through wine as that is how I have always ran it, in pcsx2 if I run it in hardw...

Re: Radeon hd 3200

I don't have good news here, but here goes. The driver you should be using is the open source one (radeon). To get a proper system report copy/paste these separately into the terminal and copy/paste the text output here ... sudo lshw -C video inxi -Fxz ... to confirm that's the video card you have,...

Re: could someone please help me with upgrading my RAM

Hello Leon8200 - If you've already installed Linux Mint, then you can use the dmidecode command to check the specs of your system's installed memory. Open the Terminal and enter "sudo dmidecode --type memory". He is an example of the output you will find: john@john-ThinkPad-T400 ~ $ sudo dmidecode ...

Re: I accidentally deleted a very important EXT4 partition

Sounds like a permissions problem. Either try changing the perm's on the recovered files to your user or just boot to a live boot and copy the files to somewhere safe. I have found them, they are in my "home" folder when I click it I see a folder with my name on it and when I click that I see the i...

Re: Flashplayer in Midori LM 17.3 XFCE 32bit

I just installed midori and watched a video on youtube, worked fine, maybe flash is not present on you system?

to install flash enter this in your terminal

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer
I just did that and I can "still" watch vidoes so it won't hurt.

Install testdisk from the repositories. Good luck. (No idea, how you managed to remove a partition by installing a software.) thanx for the reply Cosmo, I'm not sure how to use this software, I'm stuck at this part TestDisk 6.13, Data Recovery Utility, November 2011 Christophe GRENIER <grenier@cgse...
