Re: Script To install Neverwinter Nights

Update.

Works fine on 64 bit LinuxMint 18.1 too. Other libraries only need to be installed on other linux distributions.

Do NOT run as root or using sudo. I made this mistake and the game wouldn't run as it needed root privileges to access the files.

What are the hardware options for a Xen Hypervisor Setup

I'm thinking of buying a new desktop and want to run hardware accelerated Windows in a VM. Can someone confirm whether there are any NVIDIA graphics cards that can do this on the market? I have seen that the Quadro 6000, 5000, 4000 support this but these chips are from cerca 2008! Did NVIDIA stop su...

Re: How Long Should a Computer last?

To some extent yes. But that is why I am posting on a Linux Mint Forum. The people here will be familiar with most of the software I use. It doesn't matter what software you use when the system is running a new kernel on an obsolete processor with an inadequate amount of RAM. http://www.tinycorelin...

why waste your money on a cheap laptop unless you want to use it as a disposable laptop which you will throw away in one year. if your laptop costs less than a year's internet service it's not worth investing https://www.asus.com/uk/Notebooks/ASUS_Chromebook_C300/ Could you clarify this please? How Long Should a Computer last?

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 series laptop. It is more than 8 years old now. The wifi card is behaving oddly (suddenly stops working and won't work until I restart) and I think the computer may be coming to the end of its life. It's specs are something like this: intel centrino core 2 duo T5750 3 GB...

Re: how can i play a Steam game with 'default' option settings?

Is there a .ini file in the games directory? That is usually where this sort of thing is stored. Look for one and try editing it by hand.

How much disk space do you have? A game from the 90s can still be up to 4GB

Re: Can I Play Directx 11, 12 games on LinuxMint?

Also I hate to jack your thread, but do Virtual Machines running in Linux work as good as if you booted into Windows? i.e gaming performance is relatively the same performance? No, they don't. They're good for games up to about 2005 if you have a real powerhouse PC. Apparently there is a way to giv...

Re: Can I Play Directx 11, 12 games on LinuxMint?

Thanks both. Yes I already use WINE and PlayOnLinux. However neither support Thief or, so far as I know, Fallout 4.

No matter I'll mess around with a virtual machine some time and give it harware access to my graphics card. Apparently it can be done.

Can I Play Directx 11, 12 games on LinuxMint?

Hi all, There are a few recent games that are directx 11 only that I would like to play on Linux. I use Linux for everything else and don't want to install windows just for these games. However as I am sure you are aware WINE does not support directx 11 or directx 12. (not sure about 10). Is there a...

Baytrail processor Multiarch support

Hello Everyone. I have been using various distributions of Linux for the past few 4 years. Mint is probably my favorite at the moment, although I have Ubuntu on my desktop. I have no experience with non debian distributions. I am attempting to install Linux on an HP stream 7 tablet computer (anythin...
