Volume - other keys - not working Logitech K350

Hi Everyone, Here is something new. After initial install, the function keys on my Logitech seemed to be working fine. By keys, I mean the mute, volume up/down and even the email worked. On my other machine, Mint Cinnamon 19.3, everything works fine. I am using Cinnamon 20 now. Any idea why they don...

Re: Dual Monitor - Can't paste or select on second monitor

I am very sorry. As the medical mantra goes - heal thyself.... I needed to adjust my desktop settings to "show desktop icons on all monitors" so now I can move icons all around. I can also use the click and drag to select multiple items on all the screens - within that particular screen only of cour...

[SOLVED] Dual Monitor - Can't paste or select on second monitor

Hi All, Still in awe with 20. :-) I have one desktop with 19.3 and one with 20 - Cinnamon. I can't place icons on the second monitor and I can past or drag any individual files to the second monitor - like pictures, etc. Everything else seems normal such as opening programs on the second monitor and...

Re: Read Only on NTFS drive in system

Yes. It was shut down properly. I don't use sleep or hibernation.
I have to admit that this is a strange situation. I am also going to try a live run and see if it can access the drive.

Read Only on NTFS drive in system

I have 19.3 installed and never had an issue before BUT suddenly I only have access as Read-Only on the Windows drive (I dual boot to separate drives at system start using BIOS boot menu). However, sometimes I can get access to that drive. Since I sometimes edit files from the Windows system - becau...

Re: If Printing Services Stops - ...Just Reinstall... [UPDATE] Don't Do This

Changing is not something that I would want to do... Only if necessary. That being said: 1) I explained in the original post that I AM using 19.2; 2) I found the reason for the issue and, because it is easily avoidable, I won't need to switch but will need to reinstall to fix the issue.

Re: If Printing Services Stops - No Fix - Just Reinstall

Post my question but it looks like there are no replies. Oh well. This is actually the second time that this happened on different systems. Same symptoms no obvious solution available. Lets face it, printing is kind of a major issue that I can't spend all this time trying to diagnose and fix. Sadly,...

Printing Service Not Working - SUDDENLY

Hi Folks, I don't want to re-install Linux ever time I go to print something so I want to ask simply -- why am I getting this message all of a sudden when the only thing I do is install regular updates and basically check my email, etc. The system I am currently using has had no major issues but sud...

System Suspends Right After Login.

I have found the exact problem and a solution on this forum several times by different people. Problem is, it is still happening. This is a bug. I think it started happening with 19.0. What gives? Please get the team working on this. I just have a Dell E6420 Laptop with an i5. Nothing special, not e...

Re: If Printing Services Stops - No Fix - Just Reinstall

Sorry. Wasn't meant to be strong advice. I was just sharing my experiences. I did come to the forums. I was searching around for about an hour. I also looked into the Ubuntu forums. Luckily I had my trusty laptop handy to get the printing finished. That said, Someone should look and see if making th...

If Printing Services Stops - ...Just Reinstall... [UPDATE] Don't Do This

See My Post Below for Reference I have discovered a repeatable issue with CUPS/Printing. IF you go into the advanced settings - after opening the printer options - and make any chance in logs/history then you will brake the printing server/service. Just don't do it unless/until the the Mint/Cinnamon...

System goes to standby after login

Hi Everyone, Hope your all enjoying the amazing new 19.2 release. I have the new 19.2 Cinnamon installed on a second drive so I can "stress" test it. So far it is taking everything I can throw at it and more. However, one thing I have noticed that is that starting with 19.1 (and now 19.2) I get this...

Linux Mint 19.2 beta some remarks on it

There may be a chance of me getting really happy if things continue to stay stable on final release of Min 19.2. I just downloaded the 19.2 BETA and I have to say I am impressed. The issue of setting the NEMO file browser's 100% default to be the size of what it looks like at 66% (the way all previo...

Install Cinnamon 4x on Mint 18.3?

Can I install Cinnamon 4.x desktop onto Mint 18.3 (Cinnamon)?

If so, how? The PPA most refer to doesn't seem to work.

Re: Mint 19.2 Cinnamon boots to sleep

Moem, I agree on the need to go back but it would be great if that could be something that worked only as an option similar to hitting F8 in certain other OSs.

Ummm, oooops.

I meant to note that I am running into issues with 19.1 (not 19.2). Doh!.

Can Cindy be configured to basically work just like mainly Cinnamon? (sam packages, etc.)

Unreleased yet Mint 19.2 Cinnamon boots to sleep

As a separate install I have noticed that Mint Cinnamon 19.2 sometimes goes strait to sleep after logging into the desktop. Anyone else having this issue? Would also love to see a section on the web site that posts fixes the the growing number of issues in various releases. Like when GRUB suddenly d...

Re: Linux Mint 17.x has reached end of life; upgrade now!

Never really understood why there seems to always be a need to change all kinds of GUI things, etc. just because a new release comes out. I always feel that the Linux community worked more on reliability and quality rather than the type of bling that Windows is always trying to push - and then drops...
