Re: Dell e514dw mfp

This article at Dell covers your e514dw, and the printer does support IPP. It does suggests you may need to activate the setting on the printer. https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln153756/configuring-and-using-airprint-on-compatible-dell-laser-printers?lang=en#Sixteen Bonjour (mDNS) and...

Re: Installing Canon TS6151 printer on Mint Sylvia

Just saw something obvious .... probably why the file isn't found.

If the OP downloaded to the Downloads directory (good guess), need to add a CD (change directory) to the Downloads directory before the "tar" step. Note, the first letter of Downloads is capped.

Code: Select all

cd Downloads

yes I am! Trying again. The Debian wiki is protecting itself against what it sees as known sources of spam. Download the cnijfilter inkjet package offered by Canon tar zxvf cnijfilter..... .tar.gz cd cnijfilter......-deb ./install.sh I believe the installer script requires sudo. sudo ./install.sh

Re: HP Deskjet 2632 All-In-One Printer. Do not work (Suddently)

The Deskjet 2632 doesn't yet appear in the official support list for HPLIP. Search the list and you won't find it listed. https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index Edit: You could try installing the printer Wifi to your router and see if it can operate as an IPP...

Re: Driver needed for Canon Lide 120 Scanner

A driver is needed so that I may use my Canon Lide 120 scanner with my Linux 19.1 Mint cinnamon system. I do not wish to use the provided "Simple scan". It works but is does not allow operation from the buttons on the scanner. Also, it produced a copy with a grey background rather than paper-whiite...

Re: upgrading to m.2 nvme pcie ssd on older gigabyte motherboard

You might discover that you can't boot from the NVME with that board. Here's an old post on that subject. Really depends on what your BIOS/UEFI allows. https://www.overclock.net/forum/11-amd-motherboards/1606083-ga-990fxa-ud3-rev-4-samsung-sm951-128gb-nvme-m-2-mzhpv128hdgm-issue.html If you look at ...

Did you customize the /etc/imagscan/imagescan.conf file from the Epson install instructions? Here's a sample of mine for my WF-2760. Note, the ";" lines are comments and my printer is added at the bottom with its correct IP and model name vs the commented example you should see in your unmodified fi...

Re: My laptop's CPU Speed is locked to the minimum frequency on battery

I would look for a more current utility, not one that's almost abandoned and under consideration for dropping by Debian. That utility hasn't been updated in a decade (note the 2004-2009 date on its credits) and probably isn't accurately reporting the current frequency for that processor. However, th...

Re: Linux Mint 19.1 bionic low resolution on ACER X58C

That SIS 771/671 chip does have a very old driver. There is a discussion thread at Ubuntu, NOT current. https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=958967 There is a reference at the end of that thread that points here. However, those instructions are very dated. http://zatherz.cba.pl/sis/ This thread...

Re: LinuxMint 19.* with Ryzen 5 2600 ?

The changelog for Kernel 4.15 shows a correction to add temp sensor fix for the 2700x many months ago. I honestly think you won't have a problem with that CPU and Mint. Selection of motherboard, RAM, and add-on GPU in combination may pose problems worth time investigating prior to purchase. Usually,...

Check to see if the printer is showing attached USB using the following command from Terminal.

400 page job is pretty big. Any chance the job is held? Have you checked Printers - then right mouse click on the 1018 - then View Print Queue to see jobs and status?

I'm having no luck locating "MFC-L3071CW".

I believe scanning from the device console requires install of the Scan-Key driver, which I think is separate from the regular package.

The OS vendor (in the case of Mint) is Ubuntu (Canonical Ltd.). Not suggesting you install anything at this point. Just looking for leads that operate to the problem of your system. Poster didn't give any real details on what PPA drivers were selected. Further, it's possible what was selected may ha...

Re: [SOLVED] Mint reports wrong disksize on 4TB Toshiba disk

I have a Toshiba 4tb disk internal disk drive that when I click on the properties in the 'files' it shows 2.2tb. If I go to the 'Disks' drop down from Preferences, it shows up as 4tb with only 2.2tb free. The disk is brand new, has been partitioned FAT at 4tb and formatted. Any ideas? Is the drive ...
