Hi does anyone know of a "apprenticeharper/DeDRM_tools" for Mint 18.1? A number of the books I have on my laptop can't be read on my e book reader due to DRM protection. My Kindle, which is an old one, is acting up and I need an alternative means to read...thank's in anticipation.

Re: LED projector

Hi all, I've found that connecting this to an Android Tablet connected via a HDMI connection, works very well. Luckily I have this kind of tablet and will use it thus from now on. Unfortunately the problem appears to stem from Linux/Mint itself, pity I don't have an HDMI outlet on my Laptop, USB2, V...

Re: LED projector

Re: LED projector

First off there is not a function on the menu of the projector for VGA, the closest it gets is AV. I've tried AV and it brings up nothing, the screen reverts to "no input" floating over the screen. I've tried every configuration and permutation available to no avail, now I think it's time to try con...

Re: LED projector

Well unfortunately pressing the fn and f8 keys didn't do anything, no change at all, which has me wondering if this is not the problem. With no noted action, when the users manual states when these two keys are pressed together first press should cause the display to transfer to the VGA connected, s...

Re: LED projector

Hi songhuijohn, it'a Dell laptop and I've tried vga, usb connections. The preferred scenario would be an extension of my laptop, that way I could both show and control a presentation, which is what I'm trying to do now. What I've had to do is transfer everything onto an SDS card, but the order of th...

Re: remove foreign programs

"a huge amount of foreign programs...do not come from known repositories" Vital packages can become 'foreign' and 'removable' if the contents of the /etc/apt folder is changed. In the Software Sources program there's a 'Restore the default settings' button. I would use that, then the 'Update the ca...

Re: remove foreign programs

I don't know what you have listed there, but I have no programs in that category. That indicates that whatever you have listed is not essential. You would have to research each program to see which ones you want, or don't want. Thanks for your response, I have know idea how they got their I only ev...

Re: Keyboard problems

Well, i know it's kinda stupid question, but does your keyboard work fine on other operating systems ? If not, try installing the keyboard driver, it should be by the name of Human interface or UID or HID should have come from the manufacturer. I had kind of the same problem, but my keyboard was ju...
