I am having trouble with suspend, reboot etc, 'systemctl suspend' does not work.
Flemur, how do you do this in Fluxbox?

Re: Pekwm
Thanks for the link to Arch Wiki, Flemur. Making .pekwm/start executable has everything working, except of course for everything that needs root authority. I expect this was what Kadaitcha Man's warning was about.
However if anybody can help with the Polkit use I would appeciate it.

I have been using linux for a while with an ancient Mepis in my MBR. I have been accustomed to load a new system's grub to / and then copying the initrid and kernel info to the Mepis menu 1st. Shutdown
Hi,
I am running Pekwm on Mate.
I would like to hook Mate's Suspend to a function key.
Where is the shutdown/restart/suspend script located and what is it called? I have been searching in /usr/bin with no luck.
Thanks

No volume icon in Fluxbox : solved
LMDE 64 bit
I have installed Fluxbox and all is well except volumeicon doesn't load. The sound works OK. If I try to summon alsamixer with either sudo or su I get a permission denied message. I had an older version of LMDE on a second drive (which conked) and had no trouble: same hardware. Any ideas?

No panels
Hi, I am newly installed: x86_64, mint 7, Gnome
I have been Googling but can't find an answer.
When I boot up I have no panels. If I log out and change the session to Gnome then they are back, but they are not autostarting.

Thanks,
Could you give me one of the other ways?
I have been through gconf-editor with a fine tooth comb and can't find anything relevant.

Media device icon
How do I make a device icon appear on the desktop when I play a DVD or plug in a peripheral?
I want to be able to 'Safely Remove' or 'Eject'.
It used to appear but not any more...no idea what I did!
