Re: no "other settings" in "themes" menu

That is pretty silly.
But I've found it on a few other posts too.

Frankly, I'm searching for a way to change the color of window borders, not for a different taskbar color. (already found that one)
Is that possible? In any way?

Re: Terminal language vs OS gui language

Great!

It really sucks having all your commands not being english.
I'll try it with my native language (dutch) in terminal first since my current os language is english(us).

Thank you all :D

no "other settings" in "themes" menu

Hello MintGurus! I'm trying to change the color, theme or style of my window borders. So I tried this: http://superuser.com/questions/535894/how-to-style-window-borders-in-linux-mint-w-cinnamon The problem is, I can't see any "other settings" tab. there aren't any tabs. Is this functionality that's ...

Terminal language vs OS gui language

Hello Mintgurus! My native language is not English, and therefore I prefer the desktop envoirenment to be in my native language. But for a terminal it's absolutely horrible to have any other language than english. Is it possible to have two languages? One for terminal stuff. One for the desktop envo...

Re: dualboot problems

This is weird. I tried messing around with other settings and I found the following. Centos 7 works fine in ATA mode. After that, linux Mint worked fine in ATA mode. Then I just changed back to AHCI mode, to see if that was truly the problem and.... It worked with nomodeset and noveau.noaccel=1. It ...

Re: dualboot problems

Tried in the compatible and normal mode. The last time I installed it, I installed windows 10 in UEFI mode and then I installed Mint in UEFI next to it, on thesame hdd. I haven't done any funky stuff last time to get it working. I've followed a tutorial simular to the one you sended me a link to the...

Re: dualboot problems

I'm sorry for being unclear. I am not that good at explaining computer issues on forums. You swapped out your hdd for a new ssd. You changed the boot mode "to AHCI from RAID". yes. You installed Windows 10 to the new ssd, but you have not installed Mint yet to the new ssd, right? yes. I've installed...

Re: boot-repair

yeah but you were able to boot into a live cd. I don't have a linux install on my pc right now. I can't boot from a live cd, or usb. I get stuck on a black screen after trying to launch from my bootloader. I tried linux mint 17.3 which didn't work. I tried linux mint 17.2 which used to work before I...

austin.texas wrote: Have you tried -
At the boot menu of the live DVD/USB, press Tab to edit the boot arguments and add "nomodeset" at the end of the line.
Remove "quiet splash --" from that same line.
Append "nouveau.noaccel=1" at the end of the line.
tried it, didn't work.
same result

Re: dualboot problems

austin.texas wrote:When you said "When I try to boot into Linux Mint I see grub" that indicated that you were talking about an installed Mint, not about booting the live Mint.
there's a difference?
well, now I know.

I'll try that right now.

dualboot problems

Lately I swapped my hdd out for an ssd and turned boot mode to AHCI from RAID. Currently windows 10 is installed on my laptop, and I want to dualboot it with Linux Mint (x64) like I've done when I had the hdd. When I try to boot into Linux Mint I see grub, select Linux Mint and then... nothing happe...
