Re: Only one CPU core detected.

I see, I didn't see that, thanks for pointing me that, I was hesitant to install it on my hard drive because the CPU not being picked up properly, but seems like it is a easy fix. Thanks everybody, and sorry for not investigate enough.

Re: Only one CPU core detected.

You probably have the 486 kernel. Go to Device Driver Manager and see if there is a 686 kernel available. The scan takes a few minutes before it shows the results. After you update to 686 it will use all cores. (From what I know) Correct me if I am wrong. System Monitor says it's running Kernel Lin...

<SOLVED> Only one CPU core detected.

Hi, I'm currently running LMDE 201303 from a LiveUSB and there is a thing bugging me, system monitor only seems to find one core from my dual core CPU, I don't see any performance issue, so I can't tell if the missing core is not working, or if it is working but is simply not picked by the system mo...

Re: is there a way to have Mint Xfce OEM?

Got it, the boot parameter to be added is oem-config/enable=true so, to set up an OEM installation in Mint Xfce is necessary to press tab to edit the boot parameter and add oem-config/enable=true at the end. > /casper/vmlinuz file=/cdrom/preseed/mint.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.lz quiet s...

Re: is there a way to have Mint Xfce OEM?

I would like to avoid doing that... also I know there is a way by editing the boot parameters (using the TAB key while booting the live media) i did that once to install Ubuntu in OEM mode from a UnetBootin LiveUSB. However, I don't remember what to add... it is currently > /casper/vmlinuz file=/cdr...

Re: Using sources on a regular Debian Install

I'm trying with a Squeeze DVD install. I bought it from Rapael Hertzog's website. so it should work, I'm okay with getting updates until the next update pack, I want a testing more stable, my previous Debian Testing install killed itself after a bunch of updates, so I'm relying on Mint's update pack...

Using sources on a regular Debian Install

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right section for this question, if I posted in the wrong place, please move where it belongs. I would like to install Debian without a GUI and use the LMDE sources.list to make a "LMDE Minimal installation" and from there begin to build the OS. I tried to change t...

Re: Question/Suggestion about Cinnamon desktop changer.

That's actually the most logic movement, the question now is where to suggest it to see if it is implemented, that's the only thing that prevents me to use Cinnamon, because I end up with many desktops and less and less space every time.

Question/Suggestion about Cinnamon desktop changer.

Hello, I've a long time "distro-hopping" between Ubuntu and Debian, but I kept an eye over Mint, mainly because it was the first distro I used widely and opened my way to completely ditch Windows and focus solely on Linux. However Mint 12 was not a great experience as I expected it to be, I liked GN...

Re: Different panel for Mint 9???

Mintbang or crunchmint would not be a bad idea, since crunchbang is moving to a debian base, the ones who would like to have the Ubuntu base with openbox/tint2 will find that here.

anyways, I like tint2.

Re: mp3 player issues

Sounds like your MP3 is a portable storage device, which means you might need to add music to it manually using Nautilus, or your favourite file manager. Some other Mp3 players use a different way of transporting music to and from them, hence why they come up as a digital music player. Make sure yo...
