Re: Unable to print wirelessly

you have not us what OS/Distro you are using

you need to let us know what you have there.

Open Terminal and do:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxpmrz
if you are using LM21.3, remove all of the drivers and when LM21.3 boots, it will find the printer

Re: "FREE" is not always free, especially with VPNs

If you aren't paying for a product or service then YOU ARE the product or service. Generally true but even if you're paying you're probably still the product these days. Can't still the data hunger of companies. Linux Mint is free but doesn't make you the product; https://www.linuxmint.com/privacy....

"FREE" is not always free, especially with VPNs

since 2018 there have been people running a "free VPN" service that is 100% malware and stealing Credit Card information, to the tune of well over 100s of Millions of dollars. it seems like, more than 19 million infected computers spread through 190 countries were being used by hackers for...

Re: How to Enable Hibernate on Low Battery for ThinkPad

hibernate is a bad idea, and has been removed from LM21.x

Far better to have it just shutdown safely

Re: will the El Cheapo HP laptops run Linux?

I had a look on ebay.com. Lots of T480 at your price point or cheaper. have not heard back from him, so don't know if he has done anything yet. he is taking care of an old friend who just came home from some severe surgery, so doubt the has bought anything yet. eBay scares him, so doubt he will get...

Re: will the El Cheapo HP laptops run Linux?

As others have suggested, it's better to buy a refurbished business laptop that was released 5+ years ago. Alternatively, if your friend will only browse the web and never ever use it for apps or email, then a Chromebook might be a better option. I have a personal aversion to Chrome anything, won't...

Re: TimeShift

Yes, my disk is set to 1 terabyte, the volume is enough to create backups of the system. Just in case I have already saved 1 snapshot of the system if necessary for system recovery.I have already said that I am new to Linux Mint and am a little worried about making a mistake, so I decided to use th...

will the El Cheapo HP laptops run Linux?

I used to have an HP, and that thing tried everything to keep me from installing Linux on it, but that was 15 years ago. a friend wants a small laptop to carry around, use in his Recliner, etc.... I found this one for $200 at Best Buy locally. I want to put LM21.3 Cinnamon on it, will it move fast e...

new Bluetooth headset has horrible Delay

I bought a new BT Headset because it is Bone conduction... my ears are nearly useless, born deaf, doctor reconstructed the anvils, hammers, stirrups and then I forgot to use Hearing Protectors and shot a skunk with a Shotgun that has a Revolving cylinder, not a solid barrel like most have. this one ...

Weird Mouse Action - only moves Vertical

I use a LogiTech M510 laser mouse. tonight, I picked it up, turned the switch 'ON' and it refused to track left/right it would only move the cursor up/down.... weird to say the least. turned it off/on/off/on .... no difference. took some tissue paper and wiped the Laser glass a few times, wallah, it...

Re: (SOLVED) What´s the simplest way to install Excel and Word ?

"What´s the simplest way to install Excel and Word ?" Have a dual boot system with Windows installed. Beyond that I sure wouldn't do it. I experimented a while back and even when things seemed to be working...they weren't. Data corruption was rampant. I have to agree with this, I am Dual ...
