Re: Do I need a separate scanner driver for Canon MF4890dw

I used an alternate method of installing the Canon printers in my home. I dual booted up into Windows, and followed the URL provided in the Canon Owner's guide, it found the printer on my local WiFi and installed everything. Once that was done, I rebooted into LM21.3 Cinnamon and Mint found the prin...

Re: Foxclone support thread

is it reasonable for a SDD to last only about 2 1/2 years?
never had one fail on me yet, and I have about 5 or 6 of them in use.
the oldest goes back to when they first came out

"Best" Camera App for video conference?

I have an upcoming video conference with a court room, and I don't have any apps installed for Zoom or other web video stuff,

what seems to work best with most of the conference type stuff the courts use?

Re: Word 'login' does not appear on forum page sometimes

I reduce the size of the page zoom format,

Re: LO Calc refusing to format dates

it appears to me,
that the only way to fix this

is to create a brand new date Column, and Enter each Date MANUALLY.

that will then force the Date Order as I have specified.

that will burn up a lot of time... the file is large, I just uploaded a small segment of it.

Re: LO Calc refusing to format dates

I stripped the file of personal info, just left the dates and description, and sanitized that also. what is interesting, even though I scroll to each Date Cell individually, and force it to the desired Date Format, it does not change the order in how it gets sorted, or will it accept the new date fo...

Re: Battery life in Linux

Thanks very much for sharing your experience Oklahoma :) That's a good point with the screen brightness, will keep that in mind. So with having the laptop plugged into the wall socket all the time, do you limit the max charge (to say 80%) using software or do you just keep it at 100% all of the tim...

Re: XED cursor just turned BLACK

You pressed the insert key by mistake. ah..... that makes sense, as I typed a line of Gibberish, and had to delete the whole line. that happens when the keyboard slides sideways on me, and I just start "touch typing" I am trying to retrain my fingers, to find the "home key" tits...

XED cursor just turned BLACK -- Oops pressed Insert Key

XED has always shown me the cursor position, but never as a solid black Rectangle.

I just noticed this tonight, it was not there yesterday.

any idea what happened?
two updates came through, most of them were Flatpaks, but I never look to see what the others were.

AZgl1800 right now all of the icons shown in your graphic, except your mint "lm" icon are now being built from the rightside of my screen towards the left, instead of from the left side towards the right. The four that I had defined originally as launchers are now grouped together and mov...

Re: Who keeps changing how the icons in the task bar work?

I am using LM21.3 Cinnamon, and I had to chose a specific Theme to get what I want.

it has not changed in eons since I installed LM21.3 and that when it was released in Beta.
I have a 17" screen, so it is long.

Re: NEMO, cut a file, open folder to paste > and it disapeared

Please try right-clicking the folder and select Properties from the drop-down, then the Permissions button. Ensure that you (as the owner, if it's you; as the group, if you're in the right group; or as everyone if necessary) have permission to "Create and delete files". checked all of the...
