as of yesterday, or three days ago,
YouTube started blocking me with Firefox and uBlock Origin.
I just posted up in Open Chat about this,
switched to AdGuard to see how long that works.

Opera, to me, is a piece of garbage,
I delete it immediately on any PC that I manage.

I personally, turn all that crap off.
it is nothing but a Quagmire of potential problems.
cold start to desktop in 28 seconds,
why risk a Suspend or Hibernate issue?

Re: File transfer alternatives
I found the setting. It is under Developer Options >> Default USB configuration >> Transfer files Your screenshot is Developer Settings rather than Developer Options. Did you enable Developer Options by tapping on your Build ID 5-7 times in a row on About Phone >> Software information? no, I did no...

Re: File transfer alternatives
I don't get file transfer apps. I plug in a USB cable and I can transfer files much faster than over WiFi and it charges my phone at the same time. I just tried the Local USB Cable on my Samsung Note20 and it does not appear, even though I check ALLOW, back when I have a Note5, yeah, it worked, but...

Re: Do I need a separate scanner driver for Canon MF4890dw
I used an alternate method of installing the Canon printers in my home. I dual booted up into Windows, and followed the URL provided in the Canon Owner's guide, it found the printer on my local WiFi and installed everything. Once that was done, I rebooted into LM21.3 Cinnamon and Mint found the prin...

"Best" Camera App for video conference?
I have an upcoming video conference with a court room, and I don't have any apps installed for Zoom or other web video stuff,
what seems to work best with most of the conference type stuff the courts use?

install CATFISH from the SOFTWARE MANAGER
start it up, type 'kfind'
if it exists, it will find it in about 2 seconds.

Re: Word 'login' does not appear on forum page sometimes
when I have that problem,
I reduce the size of the page zoom format,
e.g. Zoom =200 for me normally down to 100% and then Login appears

Re: LO Calc refusing to format dates
it appears to me,
that the only way to fix this
is to create a brand new date Column, and Enter each Date MANUALLY.
that will then force the Date Order as I have specified.
that will burn up a lot of time... the file is large, I just uploaded a small segment of it.

Re: LO Calc refusing to format dates
I stripped the file of personal info, just left the dates and description, and sanitized that also. what is interesting, even though I scroll to each Date Cell individually, and force it to the desired Date Format, it does not change the order in how it gets sorted, or will it accept the new date fo...

Re: Battery life in Linux
Thanks very much for sharing your experience Oklahoma :) That's a good point with the screen brightness, will keep that in mind. So with having the laptop plugged into the wall socket all the time, do you limit the max charge (to say 80%) using software or do you just keep it at 100% all of the tim...
