Re: How to install Speedtest Ookla on Linux Mint 21.3?

I have the browser home page set up with 4 rows of 8 tabs to click on.

one of those is for OOKLA speedtest, I prefer the website version because it maintains your History.

Re: Hardware acceleration on a very old laptop

I have not used a Vaio now for over 10 years,
but you might try out AnyDesk to see if that will do what you want?

Re: Stuck when hibernate or suspend

it is my personal opinion, that Hibernate and Suspend should never be used. I never, ever, use either of those after much horrors in life with I started with Linux. since I have since quit using those, my PCs and Laptops don't lock up. I leave them running, just let the Power manager shut the screen...

Re: Mozilla buys ad metrics firm: Still privacy pioneer or compromiser?

You got that right! Firefox is like a virus the way it invades a computer! WTH are you smoking? FF is NOT a Virus, I have used it exclusively since Navigator, and it has never, ever, caused me any problems. and I will stay with Firefox... Nothing. I don't smoke. And I never said Firefox is a virus!...

Re: Mozilla buys ad metrics firm: Still privacy pioneer or compromiser?

I installed Brave browser, and what a joke that is.
no way to view the bookmarks properly, it created 1,000s of Tabs across the screen.

no thanks, used Timeshift to back up to yesterday and dumped Brave and LibreWolf in one step...
bye bye junk browsers.

Re: Mozilla buys ad metrics firm: Still privacy pioneer or compromiser?

I would delete Firefox, except no other web browser handles bookmarks and history as efficiently as Firefox does, and always has done. I have Tried Brave, Mullvad, Vivaldi, and don't even mention Chrome to me, I will not allow it on anything I own. I will stick with Firefox, and just keep defanging ...

Mozilla buys ad metrics firm: Still privacy pioneer or compromiser?

I just received this in my Email from AdGuard, an extension that I use with Firefox. --- Mozilla, long lauded for championing user privacy with its Firefox browser, has raised eyebrows with its recent acquisition of Anonym, an ad metrics company. This move, ostensibly aimed at boosting advertising e...
