Re: What would you do if....

I'd buy a MintBox Mini 2 Pro. Sure, I'm really paying for the Mint Brand, but I'm generally okay with the specs.

Re: I have finally stopped distro hopping!

Distro-hopping has many purposes. Yours happens to be finding the one you can settle to. I don't think the majority of us herewill have a problem if you went adventurous again. And besides, you don't have to hate other distros just because you happen to find the one you love. So, I agree with ajgrin...

Re: I am watching the "Linux Mint Should Die" in Youtube

"The Mint Team should abandon the distro and focus on the Desktop Environment" As if all distros will start using Cinnamon the moment Linux Mint went out of existence. And besides, Mint's purpose of existence if for Ease of Use, Stability and Out-of-the-Box experience for New Users... something that...

The only reason I'll be leaving Mint is because I'll get bored of her stability, which is also the same reason for coming back. I assume that's what happened to you.

Re: Why Linux Mint?

Why Mint over other Distros? It's a good starting point for beginners like me. Mint's out-of-the-box experience makes it comfy to play around and break your system - that's right, if it breaks it generally means you FORCED it to. Why Cinnamon? Flagship Desktop Environment - You can play around with...

[ANSWERED] Questions about Building Apps and Games from Source

So, I'm considering that I should have fun building apps from source instead of using Software Manager and/or getting the .deb files. My first attempt was the newest version of FLARE . So far, so good. The thing is, I'm too new with this kind of thing, but I want a build-from-source practice once no...

Re: Excited for 19.x

Everyone's excited for every new Mint release, especially when the scheduled date is right around the corner (regardless whether it will be released on that said date or not). That's just how we are. But because it's Ubuntu-based there will always be these kinds of post-release comments: "I tried it...

the OP is more of a journey of switching OSes: "Linux from Mac from Windows".

Mint can do that for as long as I can remember. I've been using it for those low-volume Youtube videos.

Lubuntu or Zorin... both will eventually lead me to Ubuntu MATE because it's close to that minty green color (happens to be my favorite color... yes even before I knew Linux Mint).

Re: 32 bit distros to continue

As a 32-bit user, I really want to move on... even if I can't. But distros that still support 32-bit aren't really helping. That maybe counter-intuitive, but that's just it. If we were talking about Linux back then (the legacy hardware savior), then that's a different story. I can have my Mint 18.x ...

Now, I understand that they're stripping it down for convinience's sake (because some distro devs can opt to put features back in anyway), but this is just getting silly.

Will Mint 19 Finally Drop Flash Support?

Browsers are dropping it, even to the point of blocking it. So I got curious.
Also, how many people here still need flash... even for rare occassions?

Re: Ubuntu flavors to drop 32-bit (i386) support

I wonder if I use these arguments:
"Microsoft ended support for Windows XP because they lacked the financial resources... or maybe the staff to do so."
"Microsoft will end support for Windows 8.1 and other previous iterations for windows because they lack the staff and/or financial resources."
