Re: Mouse isn't recognized at startup

Neighbors have a mouse? Else, before you unplug & plug the mouse, do the following: 1. After logging in, press Ctrl+Alt+T to open a terminal 2. Then run: lsusb > before.txt sudo dmesg -c > /dev/null 3. Then unplug & plug your mouse, and immediately once your mouse works run the following commands o...

Good idea, but I don't have another mouse available to me in this house.

Mouse isn't recognized at startup

Hello all, I just installed Mint 11 Gnome on my Mother's computer, and everything is fine except that when I boot it, the mouse isn't recognized. I have to unplug the mouse and plug it back into the USB port for it to be recognized. I've tried different USB ports with the same results. Mint is fully...

Re: Sabayon-7 with 3 new "Experimental" Editions

I am now using their new LXDE edition, and it is excellent. So far it's the only distro I've found that works flawlessly on my hardware. I really love the look and feel of Mint LXDE, but compared to Sabayon 7 LXDE it is really sluggish... so for now I can't use it. Edit: 2.4 ghz P4, 1GB ram. NVIDIA ...

Re: Wireless internet autoconnect in LXDE

If I recall correctly you have to go do the NetworkManager Applet edit your connection and click on the square at the bottom that says "Available to all users". Well, that was strange. That box was already checked, so I unchecked it, put in my password, and rebooted. Still had to unlock the keyring...

Wireless internet autoconnect in LXDE [Solved]

Hi, Is there any way to make Mint LXDE connect to a wireless network without having to unlock the keyring? I really like LXDE, but I think it's strange that I have to put in a password to get my wireless connected after I already put in a password to log in. Can anyone tell me what purpose this extr...

Re: Wicd icon set

These icons are for Wicd, not Network Manager. Give me a day or two and I will port these over to Network Manager. I will post a link to the new thread when it is done.

Re: Wicd icon set

Thank you for saying so, and no problem about n00b questions :) Extract the file to the location of your choosing. Go into that folder, then right-click and open a terminal there. In that terminal type this code: sudo cp * /usr/share/pixmaps/wicd You will be asked for your password, so type that. Th...

Re: Mint LXDE CE OFFICIAL!!!

I really appreciate the work you are doing on this. I downloaded LXDE for Mint on an older computer, but it is not as complete as a real LXDE Community Edition like yours would be. Looking forward to it.

Re: LXDE or GNOME+OPENBOX?

I would love to see an LXDE + Openbox version of Mint. I'm hoping it would be like Crunchbang, but with more configuration tools and stable enough for daily use. That would be a real gift to the community.

Re: Replace Thunar with PCman file maager

You could always...

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install lxde
... then login to an LXDE session. That's as light-weight as you will get Linux Mint without using the Fluxbox edition.

If I knew how to make one just using the leaf logo I would.
Ahh, makes total sense now. It's not particularly bothersome since it's very small. I was just curious. Thanks for the reply--

Re: HowTo: Upgrade Linux Mint 5 to 64 Studio 3.0

I went ahead and posted my experience on the 64 Studio forum, as per your advice. There was already a thread reporting difficulties with the multimedia kernel. Hopefully we can look forward to a smooth transition on the finished release. Until then, I'm probably going to go ahead and install the 2.1...
