Re: LMDE appropriate for dual-booting with Windows 7???
Thank you for your reply Fred Barclay, but I can assure you I haven't setup with the wrong password, I think its a graphical interface error in the system. On further research (for a solution) it appears I'm not the only one; http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 7&t=211734

Re: oddity with password change [SOLVED]
But how do you get into a terminal window when you can't get past the first login screen? Having setup LMDE2 Betsy, the username/password is being rejected. Is there anyway I can change the login prices to 'automatic login' without having to reinstall the whole OS, manual partitioning etc. This is n...

Re: Linux Mint Debian not accepting my username and password
Yes this is exactly what is happening to to me. I am not going through the process of reinstalling LMDE2 with all the manual partitioning hubbub again after doing it last night. There must be something not working on the GUI interface in the login. Have you figured it out yet Juan Oliver? ~ it's dam...

Re: LMDE appropriate for dual-booting with Windows 7???
Yes there is definitely something wrong with the login. I chose 'recovery mode' where eventually you are asked for the password ~ I entered the same password I did during setup and it took it. I go back to reboot get to the LMDE2 login page put in the username then the same password, once again says...

Re: LMDE appropriate for dual-booting with Windows 7???
So ok,I think I have managed to do a pretty good job for me (I'm far from being an IT geek) this evening! I have managed to install windows 7, add LMDE2 Betsy with all the 'manual' partitioning that that involves, done the grub2 boot loader, I then reboot, get the choice of LMDE 2 Betsy, or Windows ...

LMDE appropriate for dual-booting with Windows 7???
I have been told by a couple of people that LMDE version of Linux Mint is not an appropriate OS to be part of a dual-boot system. Is this true? I was considering replacing my Linux Mint Mate 'Rosa' with the new debian LMDE2 because Mint I am finding a little sluggish. LMDE I have used in the past &a...

Partitioning help - dual boot Windows 7 / Linux Mint MATE
I have just removed Robolinux using 'Boot-Repair-Disc' - very easy, & have replaced it with a genuine Windows 7 & then added Linux Mint "Rosa" Mate as a dual-boot (32 bit, PC is Intel® Celeron(R) CPU E1400 @ 2.00GHz × 2, Internal HD Western Digital 1TB, Memory 2.0 GiB). My issue is...
