Re: win7 after Mint

Found out that Wine is more complicated that VB. Installed trough Synaptic and no icon. Then fount qtfront for Wine. The set up asked me some questions that I have no idea of. I like simple - why they have to make it so complicated. Any easy way to get the Wine running ( icon)?. I got lazy and like ...

Re: win7 after Mint

The only reason that I could need win7 is the Vegas Video. I installed in VB and will test it today. I understand that will work a bit slower - I got time, but in the case that the Vegas will not work properly - I will have to install the win7. I try all the Linux video editing software and none com...

SOLVED Re: VB on separate partition?

Thank. That was easy - I just merge the main and 50gig partition and now have 80G. I started with installation dvd. Unmonted the hd and delete the other partitions ( I had 3) and merge the main with empty. All works fine.

VB on separate partition? <SOLVED>

I have empty 50G partition that I formated in ext4. Is there any way to install or clone the VB in another partition?. I am running low on space on installed partition.
In win7 I could just merge the partition to gain a space - is that possible in Mint?. Thanks

Moving files between Mint and win7 <SOLVED>

I have installed Mint 18.1 Mate ( the Cinamon "beat the dust" after 4 days) and installed win7 in VirtualBox. Could anyone explain to me in simple way how to copy/move files from Mint to win7. I try the usb stick, but win do not see it. Thanks.

Re: Monitor - the magic number

I try to find out of what could be the problem with the "clone" across all the new distros and the only one "thing' they have in common is the kernel. They all come with the buggy 4.4 kernel. I try to get the older one, but in "update manger" and Synaptic, the only listed ke...

Monitor - the magic number

I have installed 17.3 KDE. All works fine. I try some of the other new ( and Mint) distros - Mate, Cinamon, Plasma. All of them are having with the HDMI display resolution. Cinamon v2. had no problem. All the new distros ( Mint, Fedora, Debian) have the magic display resolution for my TV - that is 1...

Re: Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon not so good as it should be?

I have a laptop ( Lenovo G51) and get on internet trough wi-fi. I hook up my 32inch tv to see better as my eyeballs are going bad. I did try all 3 flavours of 18 and experience wi-fi drop trough my laptop wi-fi and usb wi-fi. None of those have working "clone" hdmi. The new plasma do not h...
