Re: Flatpak, can it be removed

Alright, So far it remains a question why after login I got a popup from flatpak, but, I removed it,
and after 2 reboots and logging in, I get no more popup's and everything looks normal ( until now.. )

So if it is not realy necesary, I wil keep it off my system.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Flatpak, can it be removed

Thanks, I will try to remove it. And yes, everytime I log in, it does ask in a few minutes, for a passwd within a popup. ( only once ) And in the details it says it is about flatpak to do something. Still have a question, Flatpak, is it userbased, or systembased. I mean will all users get the popup ...

Re: mount: wrong fs type, bad option - superblock

Well, there seems no other solution then rewite the whole bunch to some other filesesysten. Because of everything is growing and the goal of having some dedicated devellop system, copied all to a new disk with more space, Took some time and reconfiguring.. but its up and running and all cross-mounts...

[work around] mount: wrong fs type, bad option - superblock

After installing linux mint 19.2 on an ext4 formatted disk, linux mint 14.4 will not mount ext4 from 19.2 The filesystems ar perfectly clean! I can use and crossmount them, but only not from 14.4. The ( almost ) complete message is : Error mounting /dev/sdc1 at Command-line `mount -t "ext4" -o "uhel...

Re: [SOLVED] Install mint while keep userdata

Installing whithout formatting is just a way offered by the installer, so I do trust it!. Would'nt you. The installing process does wipe all colliding files en dirs... , you can see it as a partial format. I did it now for a third time, and after years, still no problem, but maybe the mint distro is...

Re: [SOLVED] Install mint while keep userdata

Although solved , I think it is good to know LM will not erase user data when you choose not to format. Always wise to have a backup at hand.... Also the layout of your filesystems/mountpoints does not matter. I just upgraded using the life-dvd while not formatting. ! Everything looks fine. ( Except...

After some time it stoped while failed. Now I want to look into some log-files but cannot find any? Point is, there is writen a ...

Re: [SOLVED] Install mint while keep userdata

I am going from 17.? ( qiana ) to LM 19.2 , 19.3 still has to many issues . Installing or reinstalling Linux would never be an issue on an existing system, no matter 1 FS of everything seperated... It is about , will it wipe the existing data or not. I did it before and worked perfectly, but forgot ...

Re: Strange error during access

The only thing I can think of is a problem with th filesystem. Maybe badly closed/turned of the systen? does it heppen each reboot ? A quick scan of files related to the boot time, shows the message in a lot of filesystem related executables..... So I would do a filesystemcheck. check at boot : touc...

Re: Install mint while keep userdata

Thank you, its just a / and /boot partition, nothing special.

The question is if LM will wipe the disk or just wipe /usr /bin /lib /etc and so on, but not /home....

I know, a reinstall has this option, but this is not a reinstall, however can be considdred as.

Maybe not the answer you are looking for, but there seems to be a lot of people with M3U problems like you have. Would convert the playlist into another type, say pls , solve the problem ? I must add, I am not familiar to this problem, I always copied the playlists by hand... but yes, many problems ...

Re: LMDE 4 and MINT 19.3 with same HOME partition

Could be possible, but also dangerous.

If versions of applications differ from the one OS to the other, reconfiguring can take place.
Sometimes make a switch "back" impossible.

So it is depending a lot on what you have installed, But I would never recomment.
