It would be nice if you just copied and pasted the text from the terminal to the forum instead of a picture. Now top and bottom are not visible.

Re: How to set a symbol (such as ©) to a key combination (such as ctrl+alt+c)?

You can define shortkeys via menu>preferences>keyboard shortcuts in mint mate and in cinnemon or lmde4 it is menu>preferences>keyboard>shortcut tab.
Btw, on my pc © is right-alt-c. It depends on the keyboard layout though, so that may not work for you.

Re: gcc: error: /tmp/sasm/macro.o no such file or directory ... help!

I found a very old thread about this issue and it said that you also need gcc-multilib. In the mint repo there is a whole bunch of them and I wouldnt know which one to advice. Hope this helps you any further or maybe someone else knows which one exactly you need. I found it here https://stackoverflo...

Re: installing LMDE4 fron live CD

No not so fast. Fist we are going to try to install the normal way with some tweaks. So, start from dvd and at the moment the first menu appears press arrow down and up again (this is to stop the timer for the autostart) Be sure the line 'start linux mint' is highlighted and press tab. You will see ...

Re: Network folder doesn't show on applications

If you mount it via the file manager (files) there is no mount point. Go to the file manager and click your (mounted) drive. On the top of the screen you will see something like this: https://warpwire.xs4all.nl/fm1.png Click on the pencil like button. Now you will see someting like this: https://war...

This only seems to work when the file manager is in icon-view or compact mode. Not in list mode.

Re: installing LMDE4 fron live CD

@cpedretti: That is a good tip but it applies to an already installed system. The topicstarter is trying to get it installed. The driver issue will be addressed after the install (if necessary).

Re: installing LMDE4 fron live CD

In compatibility mode some drivers are disabled and you wil have a low screen resolution during the install, but you can still install mint in that mode. You can also try to add the 'nomodeset ' option from the install dvd by pressing tab while the 'Start Linux Mint' choice in the menu is hilighted....
