Re: Move Large File from OMV NAS to Mint Fails

Try copying it in the terminal with

Code: Select all

rsync path/to/source path/to/destination
If it fails too it may give a clearer error message and it will be a lot faster than copying via de file manager.

Re: Transmission crashing

Indeed the error message is the same but the rest is all Chinese to me… :D Well, in short it says that this is a bug that occurs if you use the fr_FR.utf8 (French) locale. In that case the solution is to start transmission via the terminal with LANG=C transmission-gtk Other languages are probably n...

Re: Where is weather info being broadcast from ???

Afaik wttr.in gets its data from an api that is offered here: https://www.worldweatheronline.com/weather-api/
The only thing I could find about the data sources was this:
We generate our own weather forecast, so we do not rely on third parties for weather data.

Suggesting I go to the terminal was what made me see my mistake.
Sort of, because there were multiple failures possible :)

Re: "allow executing file" won't stay clicked

Strange. You can try in the terminal with command:

Code: Select all

chmod +x filename
At least this will show an error message if there is something wrong with it.

In fact 1.28 does not seem to bring anything important (am I missing something?

Is the destination by any chance an external or network drive with another file system type?

Re: Zenity in Mint 22

I am using yad a lot. The syntax is mostly the same as zenity but there are a lot more options. You can install it with apt install yad Then you can try it with one of your zenity scripts by just replacing the word/command zenity with yad . In the terminal you can type man yad for the syntax. Though...
